Bloodest Saxaphone
Listen to "Eddie Stout Talks Bloodest Saxaphone" on Spreaker.
Formed in Tokyo, the jump blues & swing band, BLOODEST SAXOPHONE has been playing old-school vintage sounds since 1998. Legendary Austin record man, Dialtone Records chief Eddie Stout, got together with his Japanese counterparts to dream up the concept of combining Bloodest’s retro sound with some big female voices from Texas.
They brought Bloodest’s wild men to Austin to play Eastside Kings Festival until they nearly dropped from exhaustion, then got them into the studio, quick.
Featured singers include the cream of the Texas R&B scene: Diunna Greenleaf, Lauren Cervantes, Angela Miller, Jai Malano and Crystal Thomas (okay, she’s from Shreveport, Louisiana.) Bloodest Saxophone’s members include Koda “Young Corn” Shintaro, Coh “Colonel Sanders”, Osikawa Yukimasa, Shuji “Apple Juice,” The Takeo “Little Toyko,” and Kiminori “Dog Boy.” Local Texas musicians Nick Connolly, Kaz Kazanoff and Johnny Moeller complete these powerhouse tracks.
