Unplugged and Totally Uncut February 26th

Today Friday February 26th on Unplugged and Totally Uncut... Katty Kat and Claire Shipman are in the right place at the right time. Three years ago they reached beyond the walls of what people expect from self help and get into the hearts of young adult readers. They're back with Living The Confidence Code. It showcases the stories and journey's of the young girls that've changed the world. 11am post https://www.spreaker.com/episode/43649720 A brand new weekend has quickly made it's place on the Google Calendar. Three new movies are right there with it. Ryan Jay reviews The United States vs Billie Holiday. Not your average bio-pic. It focuses in on how the U.S. government was trying to break her down not only because of her excessive drug use but a single song they wanted out of the public. It's on Hulu. Also on the flat screen is The Father from Anthony Hopkins. Right away you'll see why the film and Hopkins are up for awards. It's an extremely powerful movie that gets into your head and heart to the point of messing with what you may think is the plot. Then it's finally happened the return of Tom and Jerry. Ryan Jay's review puts it up there with Who Framed Roger Rabbit. The characters have ben updated so well! A total must see. Try to experienced on the big screen. 1pm post https://www.spreaker.com/episode/43650865 Gio Benitez is known for grabbing the attention of viewers. Now he's teamed up with A&E to ignite the experience of what it's like to survive a crime. Once a story is no long on the front page what's next? Calming The Censors

Listen to "Calming The Censors" on Spreaker. February 26, 2021 I’d love to be a fly on the wall. To watch the way people wake up. I know how silly and whacked out I must look. That first step of the morning might as well be on Mars, “NASA the lack of gravity is making me feel a little wobbly.” I honestly find incredible joy in waking up at 4:30am. Probably because I’m usually meditating at 3:00am. Nidra is some pretty powerful stuff. Through patience and the art of listening the journey becomes your physical walk on earth. But hey that doesn’t guarantee a bright beautiful day. Once up I write. Nothing happens until I write. That’s the daily discipline 27 years strong. There are days though when the page sits empty. I can never assume it’s going to fill itself. The censors are ringing too loudly. I can’t move. The censors want to choose what it shall breathe. The censors! Those voices in your head and heard that are judging you at 4:30am. The other side of my personality is shouting, “You can’t allow the censors to have control! It’s all about free form. This is not a one lane street in a one traffic light town.” The censors! It’s not always a cool place to be. Spiritually speaking being too open always has a way of inviting spirits that have already flown. Oh heck yes! Those censors want your past ghosts and skeletons to help injure your morning rise and shine. No wonder most writers instantly label their moment with the term: Writers Block. From there the next step is to huddle up in a corner to do nothing more than wait for another creative opportunity. Yeah not me. Not a well thought out first step on a planet waiting to be discovered. Absolutely we all feel like we’re locked behind several layers of unperfected new age habits, guilt, shame and doubt. Let it go. No anger. No sadness. Don’t be the only rover on the surface of a self-created Mars taking snap shots of what looks like a desert floor. Push the play button. If it’s stuck push it again. You really are here. Let the censors know of your presence. Prove your strength by recognizing your rightful place in this new day.

Don't Wait For Reality To Bite

Listen to "Don't Wait For Reality To Bite" on Spreaker. February 25, 2021 Gonna get real. Maybe too real. Cuz in this age of uncertainty the act of keeping real was what we did before Covid 19. Now we have an excuse to lock ourselves down without having to deal with what’s real. But it is. And when it happens. For a moment you’re shocked. But you’ve been reading about the mental conditions of all people, not just adults and teens but every age. The mental conditions in the aftermath of this pandemic have been and continue to take their invisible toll. I say invisible because texting isn’t talking. Emails aren’t conversation. Posting pictures on Instagram isn’t reality. The core of our inner being has been cornered in a very small dark room for nearly a year. It didn’t feel real while it was happening and as we slowly climb our way back to the sunlight it still doesn’t come across as being real. All people, especially teens and younger have had to mentally deal and only a pinch will admit that it’s made them a little distant. Without outlets, hidden speak barely cuts into the river banks keeping stale water from flowing. I’m on the front line! I hear parents, “Oh the kids are fine. It’s good that they’re getting back to school. Everything’s gonna be great. No problems here!” We are the generation that can’t seem to stop setting reality aside. Young minds don’t have the mental experience to learn how to block out or build in other areas of expression. Even that is wrong. But we do it. To deal with it we bury our interests in social media. The new normal must come with new goals, missions and a desire to face the questions. Hear me please. We aren’t professionals but there are people who are. Don’t wait until reality bites. Don’t wait until a family member gains a little courage to make that call, “I’m not thinking right.” A little courage is all it takes in a world overtaken by judgement. My father would always shout, “Get over yourself!” We aren’t professionals but there are people who are. Your child is communicating in a language you don’t understand because our minds are elsewhere. Hear your child before reality bites.

One Of Those Nights

Listen to "One Of Those Nights" on Spreaker. February 24, 2021 We’ve all had one of those nights. You know! One of those nights. No matter how hard you try to distance yourself from the night the physical actuality of your accountability is facing one of those nights. At 12:05 this morning I chose to write. The words splashed into place aren’t supposed to be understood but rather used as a place in the presence of what was the Now. I wrote: I walk through this house as if I’m a ghost. Am I still alive? I’m viewing all the artwork on the walls. I know the story of each piece. I remember what was required to invite the expression into the world I had during that place of Now. What happens to all of this when time says I can no longer be here? I’m heavily and deeply inspired by the presence of how an artist can let go of their expression. I feel something different in every piece. Each speaks its own language and I hear it. My home is never dark. I have late night lighting. I’m addicted to always being aware. I need to know where my next step will be planted. And when I go there, the art on these walls is right there with me. I hold onto these moments of Now like it’s a favorite book. They teach me how to escape. This is where I apologize to the creative self. For the pain that consumes my body, is it real or just part of the past 52 weeks of a pandemic? A shut down. The sudden unexpected twist of a career you thought you had control of until time put us in a place of new age survival. There’s so much to still learn. Therefore we should all wear the slippers baring the name of humble. If you listen to the stories of the passerby you’ll learn more than binge watching another episode of Schitts Creek. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with admitting to yourself that it’s ok to be weak. Keep checking in with that side of your personality. In time, the physical actuality of your reality will be what you make of the moment. Yeah, it’s all changed. Everything worked for has a new image. Your position of responsibility is an essential job you once ignored and now through experience you’re learning newer ways to connect with a fast paced guest who holds no interest in how you used to be. One of those nights always leads to one of those mornings. How we decide to limit ourselves or push forward is the existence of presentation. Have we reached the stage of life where we don’t want people to know what we used to do? We are well aware of the actuality of Now. There’s no reason to make it the conversation. The next step should be what we were endlessly taught in martial arts. You may have a third degree black belt wrapped around your waist but if the person in front of you is a white belt; as are you. One of those nights.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 236

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 236" on Spreaker. February 23, 2021 Animal Speak has been a huge part of the universe that which I’m blessed to be part of. Ted Andrews and countless others have written books that are extremely easy to study and by way of digital devices you’re allowed to keep their experiences nearby. Animal Speak isn’t for everybody because it goes against a lot of what’s already been planted inside your beliefs. And yet have you taken note of how close nature has gotten since the arrival of this invisible beast pandemic? I write in a forest. It’s who I am. Not because I am but it’s because they said I am. How far did that fly over your head? On the morning of December 6, 2020 I wrote about the energy moving through my mind body and soul while being present with the atmosphere. I was in the forest, for it’s always been the guide. A place to listen, to watch, to speak with and belong to. My first view of the morning was the flight of a very beautiful Red Tail Hawk. So peace filled during a 29 degree sunrise. Maybe fifteen feet from my nearest touch I fall witness to a couple of deer thoroughly enjoying their breakfast. I talk with these animals. Animal Speak. The deer swish their large white tails while staring deeply into my eyes. They know, they all know that something is moving through each and every one of us. It’s changed our paths of choice and for many we’ve lost our sense of empowerment. It’s through these animals and not man’s desire and need to spread bad stories that we’re able to fall witness to a deeper meaning and more message. It’s our choice not to listen! Until you look beyond yourself and realize the importance of the deer. They represent instinct. The Red Tail Hawk reminds us to stay alert and focused. Neither of these animals say, “React or find reason to attack.” Stop for a moment. Let me share that line again. Neither of these animals say, “React or find reason to attack.” Please take note of the day this was written. December 6, 2020. One month before one of the darkest days in American history. Becoming aware of what you’re posting on social media. Making sure you aren’t a fire starter with a subject that doesn’t agree with your stomach. None of us knew of the horrifying truth that would be unveiled on January 6, 2021. Instinct while staying alert and focused gets you through invisible storms. Not stepping out there without a net to catapult a thought across a digital connection designed to give you free speech. Until they deem it wrong. Neither of the animals said, “React or find reason to attack.” Therefore the choice through avenues of Animal Speak is to find equal love and equal peace. There’s a lot to be learned when animals share their energy. Are you listening? I write in a forest. It’s who I am. Not because I am but it’s because they said I am.

Stream Thinking: Communicating

Listen to "Stream Thinking Communicating" on Spreaker. February 22, 2021 Stream thinking. I practice it every day. Once a week though I set it free so that we can learn how to trust in its presence. Ten minutes. Write whatever you feel. No editing. No judgement. Put it out there! All that’s in your head. The power of stream thinking. Living in the presence of Now. The subject this week is communicating. Ha! Oh my God who does that? Ha! Communicating by way of connecting doesn’t require emails that resemble books. You know. Those long collection of words and thoughts that people send thinking you’re going to read it to the end. Not me! I check out after a sentence or two. They complain that I didn’t respond. Yep. If you can’t say it in 15 words. Not gonna pay attention. Communicating! So many sentences are sent that bare the image of the writer “It’s all about me! I’m better than!” Goodness. I’m checking out then. I’ve never understood why people ask me questions when the next email is going to be their response on how they can do better. Oh! Communicating! Not in dictator style but rather one on one. Like we’re together in conversation. We need to heal our communication skills. The last four years have been brutal. We were given permission to say whatever we want like it or not. OK. Not! Conversation is designed to go a long way. What you say today has the empowerment to last the next seven generations. So stop your accusations. Limit your energy and become part of the environment of Now. The purpose behind unity. That’s a big thought. There can never be a strong community if the indifferences resemble shards of glass. Communicating is an act of distance. The impact reaches beyond your moment of release. Willie Nelson says it best “I can’t go back and change anything because it will effect where I presently stand. I like where I am today.” Moving forward with conversation during a pandemic where most of us have no clue what office living is about. Zoom meetings are a total distraction. Phone conversations no different. There’s no better feeling then standing with someone eye to eye and what you’re communicating is experienced. Please don’t send an email or text. That’s modern day laziness.

We've Made It To Mars

Listen to "We Made It To Mars" on Spreaker. February 19, 2021 Well they did it! NASA put Perseverance on the planet Mars. Its mission is to locate the potential of there once being life. Potential? The child in me giggles. It knew at seven years old that Martians exist. Part of the modern day conspiracy theory is that Covid 19 is actually an alien that’s invaded our way of living. Who says creatures from outer space have to look like us or have a huge bubble head? What if we came from Mars? It was the yearly family outing to Saturn that drove us to earth. Someone in the backseat had to use the bathroom so we took a pit stop at this place called earth. We liked it and decided to stay. I mean, what if we’re the invader and we’re just trying to make it back? It took Perseverance seven months to make it to Mars. Can you imagine making that journey? No Wi-Fi! No Netflix or Hulu! No quick trip to McDonalds or placing a phone call to someone to pick up Panera Bread. How do we mentally prepare for such a journey? A couple of weeks ago I was blessed with the opportunity to share a conversation with Astronaut Abby. She’s on a huge mission to be one of the first to physically walk on Mars. I wanted to shout out, “Really? Cuz you know how big business America is running the ship these days. A.I.’s and robots.” On a more serious note I do wonder about the day I watched man take his first step on the moon. If I had been a daily writer at seven, what would’ve I written? Without words on a page I know how it inspired me. I flipped the dog house over and turned it into an Apollo mission. Not once but several times! Are today’s kids inspired? We relied on the Weekly Reader to keep us engaged. Today’s generation has Google. But how many little ones know how to spell Perseverance? They should’ve called the billion dollar machine Fred or Kevin. I live for the day to walk into a class and see someone holding their pencil or pen in the air and making a sound that resembles a rocket shooting through space. That being said I wonder if NASA is reaching into the future or just an old guy like me doing things because we’re old and old people want fast cars and Rock star posters framed on the wall. Wait. Remove the frame. Posters need clear tape or staples. That’s how you relive the childhood. Think that’s bad? My wife looked at me and really asked, “That’s what Mars looks like? I think it’s a Hollywood set and it’s totally fake. To get our minds off politics and Covid 19.” I actually leaned into that thought and believed it for a moment. Gullible never gets old.

Down A Year

Listen to "Down A Year" on Spreaker. February 18, 2021 Numbers. We just can’t make it through a day without somehow getting tangled up in numbers. The government with a trillion dollar aid package versus the number of vaccines being delivered during a pandemic. And it’s because of that monster we’re introduced to even newer numbers. Last week scientists revealed that each of us are three years older due to the stress we’ve been enduring over the past fifty two weeks. Now the latest numbers are showing the average life expectancy in the United States has dropped to 77.8. This is the third time since this study was put into play in 1980 that it’s gone down. We’ve been living longer. Not presently. Life has slipped on the banana peel and we’re headed a different way. I’ll tell you what I was shocked to read. One of the other times our life expectancy changed was just a few years back during the huge increase in opioid use. Numbers! I still remember being a basket case during the introduction of Y2K. Remember how most of us didn’t fall asleep on New Year’s Eve because the computers might not sync up to the new century? Here’s the thing. We’ve got to stop investing our energy in content we can’t control. Stop wasting what little time we have left trying to out science the experts. Find your path of release without having to unleash your inner beast. I started daily writing at the age of thirty two. For twenty seven years I’ve not walked this path blind. Through the power of stream writing and free form thinking the awareness button is locked in on being present in the Now. Not on 77.8. I’m closer to it then my childhood memories. Once I read about the new expectancy I wandered through Google seeking out the life expectancy of writers and readers. No numbers were available but it did mention that those who do write and read a lot physically keep their brains activated and the only thing that truly starts to fade is our vision. I chuckled when I read that. I wear contacts. No matter how much stuff you dump into your eyes at 4:30am there’s still a lot of fog to mess with while writing. I shoot for the page hoping everything lands in place. I don’t want to know the number of times I’ve missed. It’s just another number. In her book The Vein of Gold Julia Cameron teaches her readers about the importance of deprivation. Learning how to break free of the things you don’t and won’t have control over. Not that you’re a power freak but rather just an everyday human being. Gaining access to your awareness isn’t a numbers race. It’s being mindful of who you are in the moment and how easy it can be to rely on the trust you have with the hidden self to keep you from busting a brain vessel trying to understand which number best fits your anxiety level. As boring as it may sound. I invite you to go to YouTube and search for frequency music. It’s not about numbers but rather the avenue of release. A vibration of peace. Just doing what we can to push your expectancy beyond 77.8.

Self Culture Cancellation

Listen to "Self Culture Cancellation" on Spreaker. February 17, 2021 Trusting what you write. We see it every day on social media. Those who post trust their personal expressions. As a daily writer I’ve spent the past twenty eight years learning how to trust what falls from the nib of the writing instrument. Some days I like it. Others prove to be an eye opener or an impossible challenge. Yesterday, and for some reason it didn’t seem to come up on the podcast. Yesterday these words appeared on the page: What we see as being challenged isn’t always change but rather how we decide to keep living in a past we’d like to rewrite. Doesn’t that fall into the description of Self Culture Cancellation? Is it healthy to convince ourselves that time itself has been erased and or replaced by the way we saw it and not the way it honestly was? Self Culture Cancellation. I couldn’t let the subject go. So much so that late last night I scratched onto the top of my daily writing page: Pick up on Self Culture Cancellation. I was headed into a writing assignment during a time when free form thinking is where I graze. Here’s how I define Self Culture Cancellation: Making it known to ourselves that a moment or event no longer fits into the story that which we wish to live with. By way of rewriting our past we choose to cancel the actions of reality and replace it with a story that features less pain and anxiety. This isn’t a guilt trip but a stroll through awareness. How aware are we of the stories we keep? I daily write so that my inner core can’t and won’t find reason to erase or replace. The goal is to never put myself in a position of Self Culture Cancellation. That I know of. And if I do the newly laid path is having the knowledge or awareness to keep the soul clear of Self Culture Cancellation. Sure, I’d love to go back and replace the actions, reactions and lack of abilities I’ve carried during these forty two years in Broadcasting. But why exchange the experiences? We wouldn’t be in this moment of Now if anything was different. I’d do anything to return to the budding stages of learning how to put paint on a canvas then marketing it to galleries across the nation. The rejection letters to this moment sting worse than a bee! But I won’t rewrite it. If you could see the walls of this recording studio. They are blessed with the art that fell from my creative expression. I don’t see them as pain. I call them my skeletons. If I chose to Self Culture Cancellation this studio would be emptier than my heart. Awareness. Know when you’re practicing Self Culture Cancellation. Being you requires the entire path not just the pretty flowers on a desert floor that hasn’t seen water in eighty years.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 235

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 235" on Spreaker. February 16, 2021 I’ve written a lot over the years about the final dance. That single most unpredictable moment when what you once had is no longer part of the path. What was your final dance? In 2009 I not only penned out the lyrics to a song titled The Final Dance but had it professionally recorded. It’s always difficult to share the story of why a song is written because a listener’s interpretation is a huge part of the process of being an artist. Why it came into being may not carry the elegance of dance as it enters your moment of process. The final dance of a different type was my subject on November 28, 2020. I live in a forest and have struggled for years with how leaves turn yellow and slowly dance to the ground. The relationship between the tree and leaf set free to blow in the wind pains my soul. Their final dance. Over the past fifty two weeks all of us have shared one thing in common. A global pandemic. Just like the leaves on the tree and the snowflakes that float from the sky, each of us may have that commonality but we’re all different and extremely unique. We’ve learned to identify with what feels like a new us but in digesting the constant weight of uncertainty we’ve been reshaped by way of expression. Which is art. Those so willing to release what moves through them have given permission to their souls to release their personalized leaves. Their art has made the final dance. And as I continue to dig deeper into the subject at hand my silent wolf way of life, a people watcher has spent the past fifty two weeks studying how many of us haven’t changed. Still clinging to the tree. Holding on so tight that it’s causing stress and anxiety. As if to be afraid of the final dance. A leaf’s journey is seasonal and can’t be protected. A pandemic cannot be compared. Not everyone believes in the universe in the way you walk. Don’t keep clinging. Through all that’s thick and unexplained give yourself permission to locate dance. To express in your own artist walk and way. I’m not saying to let the world see your creations. The choice is for you to see how beautiful change is and will forever become in you. Accepting the final dance doesn’t mean the end. It’s always the first step of your brand new beginning.

Stream Thinking Evaluation

Listen to "Stream Thinking Evaluation" on Spreaker. February 15, 2021 I’m going to bring up one word that will divide this moment of thought. A word that business leaders feel is of importance while those serving feel increasingly horrible about. A single word that’s going to crash our souls because we’ve spent a year out here keeping the company alive without having to make the drive. Evaluation. I’ve never understood why we visibly have to live up to an expectation that may be great today but a total weakness tomorrow. An evaluation is judgment. A free pass to show the weight of the mass making the calling. It’s nothing more than an opinion. Wait! This isn’t a boss bashing! Each and every one of us are extremely guilty of keeping the definition of evaluation alive. I judge an email before opening it. I see a coworker or department head out in the real world walking in my direction carrying a frumpy frail sense of body language and I dive completely off the path of success. You don’t need me to remind you of how social media has turned us all into takers. If we don’t like what we chose to receive we’ve got no problem to evaluate it. On a personal level it’s always been very difficult for me to digest an outsider’s point of view. They weren’t living in my shoes. We’re instantly poisoned. Shaken up. Frozen in time. While the giver walks away like nothing has happened, you’re stuck feet first in a jar of nothingness because the evaluation is tearing up your inner source of energy. Sadly, I must ask. How many evaluations from the 1980’s and 90’s are you still carrying? There are things my father said when I was a kid that keeps me from reaching forward 50 years into the story. Evaluations. What will the business world look like post Covid 19? We’ve already proven we can do it on our own. How valuable is that to the next generation company? I’m blessed with the opportunity to be on the frontline eight to twelve hours a day six days a week. Blessed because I’m watching you. Is this an evaluation? I hope you don’t feel that way. My choice is to listen not invite judgement. To say, “You’re doing better than you assume!” Is that an evaluation? If so, then mentioning, “I’m proud of you for being the Mayor of your inner city environment. Working from home with a house full of kids struggling to be students.” I see value in your steps. I offer no evaluation because your worth to world is priceless. This is the dawning of a new age. Stop the evaluations. The world stopped in March of 2020. Picking it back up requires equal respect and behavior.

Make Some Noise

Listen to "Make Some Noise" on Spreaker. February 12, 2021 Moody… And for what reason? How often do you face that image in the mirror? Here in the Carolina’s it’s been an extremely wet rainy winter with even more on the way. Does it truly play on the emotional game? Research says, “Yes.” The barometric pressure alters our moods. It goes as far as triggering headaches. Now toss in the continuation of uncertainty caused by a global pandemic, a political crash in the states, a looming financial crisis and so on. Moody? We should all admit that we know the reason. What we need is a physical act of positive. My recording studio offers an escape. Not just having the opportunity to create but the lighting in this room is brighter than the sun during a midsummer day. Light gives me a positive. Sure we can knock on the door leading to our heart and demand better service. But why? It’s taken a beating over the past fifty two weeks. Yet at the same time we can’t let it rest either. We need our hearts! Without it our bodies are a boat without a rudder. We’ll land wherever the wind will take us. Which sounds like my 20’s and 30’s. No thanks. Not going back. The good news is simple. Now that we’re aware of being moody. Change it. We were given six senses at birth. Let them collaborate. Be happy by living it. Here’s how I shook myself free of the moody murky musty blucky feeling. I sat in this studio making sounds. Any sounds. Not words. Sounds. Funny, weird, awkward, insane childish, caveman like and just plain stupid sounds. What I noticed was how the entire body moved with each sound connected. Everything was moving at once. This could be an entirely new exercise program. We all get in a room and do nothing but make sounds. The body in motion inspired and influenced my outlook. Let the sounds go. Don’t whisper them. Don’t over shout them. Make some noise.

Clearing Your Heart

Listen to "Clearing The Heart" on Spreaker. February 11, 2021 I experienced something different last evening. I was invited to share my experiences as a podcaster on an episode designed to help strengthen the walls and performances of what podcasting truly is and should evolve into. Never once did I feel like a guest. It was if I had always been part of their circle. Which is something we can all learn from. When engaging in conversations with others ease up on interviewing them for answers. We’ve already got enough on our plates. It feels like a never ending Thanksgiving. All of this food and no place to put it. Learning how to clear the heart during the waking hours is a huge task for many. Rather than facing the sleepiness and or weakness we try to drown it out with coffee or power drinks. The daily discipline for me is to remain focused on life’s everyday highway. But during these moments of out of control news headlines and a pandemic, the awareness level is over saturated with unbelievable amounts of outside sources that can easily turn into negative energy. Creating daily intentions is a brilliant tool. While walking through the forest with Jazzie each morning at 4:30 I’m in that moment of saying, “My intentions today is ______.” Another self motivator is to remove everything connected to having to do something. I have to work. I have to pay the bills. No! The only thing we have to do is live another day with this pandemic. You should be asking yourself, “What do I need to do?” If you use prayer to help ease the anxiety you don’t need to write a book. Just show up. Be present. Available. Life isn’t supposed to feel like a checkmate in chess. The game isn’t over. What do you need to do to bring forward success? Your heart has been prepared. Nobody enjoys changing the oil in their car and putting fuel in it can be a pain in the day. Clearing the heart during the waking hours is a discipline but it can also but something you find joy in. To explore where you presently stand in this mess of events. To locate the needed space to calmly say, “Not today. These 15 or so minutes are mine and I think I’ll slowly eat my toast and sip not gulp my coffee.” What do I need to do? Suddenly you’re no longer a prisoner. You don’t have do anything in life but breathe.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 234

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 234" on Spreaker. February 9, 2021 We’ve got an addiction to More. We want more opportunities, more respect, more money, more entertainment, more space and more more. Have you counted the number of storage companies have taken over the city? Before moving to the southern part of the United States I was told about there being a church on every corner. Today it’s storage units. We have too much More! I recently read about the first ever grocery store and how it’s impact on the community made people dizzy. There were too many choices. Today’s grocery stores spend millions of dollars marketing their More to a consumer expecting and demanding more. When will the human become like a tree and start shedding its leaves? As much as we enjoy watching deer lay in the onetime green water collectors from a tree, the roots of the giant stick aren’t stuck to their past. In 52 weeks more people of science have united than any other time in history. Together they’ve developed not one but several vaccines that will hopefully free us from a pandemic that’s cleared the way for us to become even more addicted to More. We’ve had nothing better to do than buy more stuff. It’s no longer about keeping up with the Jones’ but rather keeping up with us. My wife and I did what’s called The Swedish Death Cleaning in April of 2020. We threw so much away. Only to fill the house back up. If we’re physically collecting more things, what are we doing mentally? How do you know when More is too much? Like the first grocery store a huge part of your inner being is dizzy because too much has been collected and not allowed to fall from your tree of life. Who better to know this than the professionals who’ve made it incredibly easy for anyone seeking help to locate peace by way of making connections on the internet. Non-profit groups have joined the circle offering free help for those with too much Morein their heart and head. The current shape of the planet is anything but round and it’s sure not flat or our collections of More would drop off. What are we searching for? The identity of Covid 19? A political world we can trust? A career that’s connected to open doors and success stories? More means what? Mentally it’s not changing the scale. The snacks and other choices of escapism are though. Physically your house isn’t getting smaller, there’s just more boxes. Oh wait! Let’s move it to storage! Once out what’s coming back in? Getting control of your addiction to More. The first warning sign is admitting there’s nothing to watch on Netflix.

What does it really take to convince NASA to get their booster rockets in the air? 4pm post https://www.spreaker.com/episode/43347707 Then we're Playing It Forward with Scoot Pittman The one thing you can’t do is keep a creative mind locked down. No matter how hard a musician’s life has been hit over the past 52 weeks, the creative process continues to generate energy between the lyrics. 7pm post. https://www.spreaker.com/episode/43351788

Stream Thinking Your Words

Listen to "Stream Thinking Your Words" on Spreaker. February 8, 2021 I call it Stream Thinking. A daily discipline as a writer. One page. Ten minutes. No editing. Write about what’s moving through your present place of Now. No judgement. No perfectionist. It’s about trusting your creative instinct. The opening sentence and or thought can be a little tough but then just let your energy flow. This week it’s all about our words. Is there value in what we have said? What we want to say and what we’ll probably never say. As of late, it’s what we say that can be career ending or it can influence large groups to ignore what some have labeled both right and wrong. Huge digital platforms have taken it upon themselves to censor word makers that don’t fit within their expectations and goals to reach people in a peaceful and peace filled way. In all things we speak, the inner core of what we say must make the entire self know that no matter what time of day or night it is its being recorded. Are public speeches protected by the 1st Amendment? Motivational speakers and preachers move people. What is seen as a positive can also come across as a serious negative. The words we choose to use. How about those we elect to hold back because it might mean getting kicked out of the cool kids club or knocked free of the money supporting we who speak? What is the mental impact of the decision to not say something? But if you could what words would you say? Is it worth what others might say?

The Front Seat

Listen to "The Front Seat" on Spreaker. February 5, 2021 Words on a page. Not to be confused with words spoken. Words on a page. While handwriting, your entire body feels the emotional connection. To talk or use a speaking voice, it’s extremely easy to fit into any character. I’m guilty of it. When I need a pick me up, I’ll use my inflection, pitch, volume and tone to pick someone up. Seeing them smile, giggle, snort and respond gives back a new source of positive energy. With daily writing it’s just me. What are the possibilities that words on a page without volume will have any type of impact on a future reader? I really enjoyed the 2.5 years I put into writing and publishing my book Scrambled Eggs. Selfishly I was so proud of the artistic value put into the vision and vibration. It didn’t sell. But I’m ok with that. The total experience of putting words on a page was unexplainable and very rewarding. Mainly because it was 53 pieces of long form poetry that happened to tell the story of a Beatle. Yep John Lennon. Therefore as a writer every sentence becoming a paragraph had to be focused on the creative process of words making music. During those 2.5 years of sculpting Scramble Eggs the imagination was locked in on a story that led to conversations with Yoko, Julian Lennon and because it deals with Alzheimer’s I was blessed with a conversation with Glen Campbell’s family. But the book never sold. I’m ok with that. The experience of words on a page far exceeds the words I’ve spoken. My challenge to you. After spending nearly three decades trying to show people the way with the art of writing, the new step for you to take is to use your speaking voice as a tool. It’s not selfish or conceited. When you’re in a funk. Anxiety is kicking your tail. An awkward day with no straight lines. Use your voice to pick someone up. Then enjoy being in the front seat of the performance. Enlighten someone first. Amazing things happen to your heart.

The Box

Listen to "The Box" on Spreaker. February 4, 2021 Do dreams last all night? Not according to the experts. Most late night early morning mental movies clock in at 20 to 30 minutes. Why then does it feel like all night? The only thing we remember is what’s experienced during REM. My dream of an open box may have started during REM at 11pm and then again during REM before waking at 4:30am. Therefore the imagination is convinced the dream did last all night. The real subject at hand isn’t the distance a dream travels but rather the symbol of an open box. Those that study dreams see nothing negative in the openness provided. Therefore what purpose does it serve in the outside world? My first attempt to locate an answer was to turn the box into my daily writing journal. Its square and I store things inside. A box! But I’ve never treated it as such. The journal has always been an open window filled with words and expressions that influenced my systems of choice. The reason why so many hardworking dedicated creative and noncreative minds get clogged up with angst, depression, fear and doubt is because we won’t let go of what’s been assumed. You’re not treating your moment like an open box. We store things for later digestion or understanding. Time wasted. Self guilt sets in. You feel as if you can’t find the time to keep knowing you. How can we take what we dream and not let it evolve into a monster in our reality? So often it feels like a Ghostbusters portal giving permission to every beast to step through and take over your moods. Can they collaborate with your existence of a better understanding? First and foremost we have to understand why the majority of us are having extreme vivid dreams. The pandemic is ripping your place of rest to shreds. Your inner eye wants to identify what has changed your life and it slow dances with uncertainty in the way of trying to inspire the music to get back to something you recognize. It’s not happening as fast as your truer self wants. Stop trying to write the story. Living in the presence of Now means getting control of what’s in your Now. Here’s a good example. I’m presently enjoying a beautiful Carolina sunrise. The sky is bright pink with a Tar Heel blue backdrop. It’s also 25 degrees. My Now isn’t your Now. By the time you read this the atmosphere has changed. What time of day is in your Now? How far into the sky is the sun? Did you just wake up from a bad dream and somehow some way you found this page? Yes the future is right there in front of us. No you can’t write the story. By the time your future arrives it won’t match what you wrote. Now we’re facing disappointment. Be present. An open box. Now dream…

Stream Thinking Do You Really Need To Know

Listen to "Stream Thinking Do You Really Need To Know" on Spreaker. February 1, 2021 I call it stream thinking. Because I believe in the power of now. The challenge is to write one page. 10 minutes only. No editing. Whatever you feel in the moment. Drop the writing instrument then walk away. On a different day we get to talk about it. This week’s subject hits us all in the heart. What we think we know versus what we want to know. What do we really know? What are we knowingly doing about it? This tends to serve as a trigger for many. It sends emotions toward challenge and change or into moments of taking cover. The investment of energy is personal and isn’t easy to pull off. If something or someone has moved into your tight circle, the objective should always be to put peace first. As a third degree Black Belt this was shoved deeply into our thinking and reaction process. It wasn’t to train like warriors on a headhunt. The mission should always be to put peace ahead of all things. There can’t be a reason to find strength in defense. But in the real world of the everyday situation the design of so many thinking patterns is fed by how others violate our space. We’re ready to use what we want to know as a reason to resurface what’s now become the newer connection. Taking what we know and putting value in it as a tool. I love it when people say, “I’ve got nothing to complain about.” I instantly respond, “But if you did. What would it be?” The usual response is, “Let’s not go there.” Because we know! Learning how to collaborate with other passerby’s is vital in the way of generating enough space to stop stepping on what others know about you. I’m blown away with how a simple nametag changes the direction of what a person may think they know. On the frontline, I’m not the radio guy. I don’t use his name. People approach me thinking they know. One look at the nametag and it’s a different conversation. How often do you do the same? No matter where you travel the information held helps pave the way until the edge of the surface fails to put into play because you didn’t know the entire story. Do you keep walking or get to know something new?
