Sophie Sabbage

Listen to "Sophie Sabbage The Cancer Whisperer" on Spreaker. Of all lifeshocks, cancer is perhaps one of the most ubiquitous—touching friends, relatives, parents, and even ourselves at some point in our lives. Physical devastation aside, maintaining one’s personhood and dignity through treatment is one of the most daunting challenges. At age 48, happily married and the mother to a four-year-old daughter, author Sophie Sabbage was diagnosed with late-stage, “terminal” lung cancer. She was shaken to her core. She was given leaflets about how to cope with chemo, what to expect from the side effects of treatment, and how to tell her daughter she was going to die. But no one explained how to deal with the rage, hopelessness, terror, and grief. Determined to engage with cancer in a transformative way, she set out on researching and writing The Cancer Whisperer. This is not a book about how to cure cancer. This is a book about how to cure the fear of cancer—challenging the “battle with cancer” narrative, it is about living with cancer while coming to terms with our own humanity and mortality and focusing on the mental, emotional, and spiritual experience while distilling the best treatments she has found. Join Sophie Sabbage on Tuesday, January 31st as she discusses how to: · preserve personhood in a system that tends to see those with cancer as patients more than people. · engage with fear, anger, and grief in healthy and healing ways instead of toughing it out, trying to be falsely positive, or collapsing into despair · radically shift from being a cancer victim to a cancer listener—fostering an understanding of cancer as a symptom of other underlying causes and engaging with whatever changes it calls on them to make. This book chronicles Sophie’s extraordinary relationship with cancer and the very effective methods she has used for dealing with her fear, anger, denial, and grief. The Brené Brown of cancer, Sophie teaches us how to be emotionally free even when we are physically curtailed. About the author: Sophie Sabbage is an inspirational writer, speaker, and facilitator who has worked in the field of human development, emotional intelligence, mind-set change, and corporate culture change for more than twenty years. She lives in the UK. More at: sophiesabbage.com

Donnell Rawlings

Listen to "Donnell Rawlings He's Done All That" on Spreaker. 2016 has already started off with a bang for Donnell, he has already been cast in Kevin Smith’s pilot Hollyweed. 2015 was a huge year for Donnell Rawlings, he lit the stage at The Dubai Comedy Festival. He also rocked it at Montreal Comedy Festival. He has been touring all over with Dave Chappelle. In 2014 he killed during a record number of shows working with Dave Chappelle at Radio City Music Hall in NYC. You just saw him starring in his own show as Judge Rawlings on MTV2’s Guy Court. Donnell was also was a cast member on MTV2’s Guy Code. Donnell can be seen hosting Staann' Dup to be seen on StarzBlack. He lends his voice in a recurring role as “Another Cat Named Rally” on the hit animation Black Dynamite as well being featured in Adult Swim’s animation. Donnell continues to tour heavily, performing his intelligently bold stand-up throughout the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. And his new comedy album, Ain’t Worried About…, is out on February 17th. Rawlings is an overnight success a decade in the making. You’ve seen him on Comedy Central’s award winning and critically celebrated Chappelle’s Show as ‘Ashy Larry’, the 70’s jheri curled ‘Beautiful’, and numerous other characters he’s played. Donnell is the franchise player Dave Chappelle and Neal Brennan wanted as a writer and prime time player on their team. Since Dave Chappelle had business to take care of in Africa, Donnell was asked to step into the huge shoes Dave left behind, and host the Lost Episodes. “Hilarious” is what Linda Stasi of the New York Post calls Donnell’s performance as host. Donnell has performed his intelligently bold stand-up throughout the U.S., Europe, and the Caribbean. He has appeared on the award winning Law & Order series, Special Victims Unit (SVU) and Criminal Intent (CI) and has also appeared on NBC’s Third Watch and the Emmy award winning HBO Special: The Corner. Growing up, this Washington, D.C. native used humor as a means of persuasion with the ladies and whipped out his wicked wit as a weapon of mass destruction in verbal battle. While in the Air Force, Donnell’s wordplay shotdown more military personnel than the G.I. issued arms. When Donnell returned to the States and settled into civilian life, he decided to check out the local comedy scene in D.C. He quickly became the “official heckler” as he ate comedians alive from the audience. One day a local comedian challenged Donnell to bring his act to the stage. Six months later Donnell was performing on HBO’s Def Comedy Jam. From his weekly guest appearances on New York’s Hot 97 Morning Show, to his role in the blockbuster Spider-Man II and his position as resident “Funny Guy” on the Ricki Lake Show, Donnell’s rise to stardom may not have been “overnight”, but the journey has given him the life experience to keep his humor edgy and relevant. Donnell’s peers have noticed his talent and potential. Neal Brennan, co-executive producer and co-head writer of Chappelle’s Show: “Whenever we put Donnell in the game he’s going to hit a home run.” Jamie Foxx says “That guy is a beast!” Wayne Brady commented that Donnell provides “amazing work on the show” and Dave Chappelle feels that “Donnell brings so much to the table...this very funny guy makes it look natural and easy.”

Deanna Adler

Listen to "Deanna Adler Sweet Child Of Mine" on Spreaker. Guns N Roses has been heralded as the greatest rock n roll band on the planet. During the late 80’s and 90’s the hedonistic rock gods Axl, Slash, Izzy, Steven and Duff scored sold out stadium concerts on the way to multi-platinum success. During it all, original drummer Steven Adler stole hearts and headlines with his insane antics. But Steven was soon crippled by a tragic heroin addiction that led to him to being kicked out of the band he helped found. This was just the beginning of decades of acrimony, denial and abuse by the entire group. By the new millennium, all but Axl had quit the band. At the center of this maelstrom stood Steven’s mother, Deanna Adler, the GNR-proclaimed “first fan” of the group. Deanna was there at the beginning in 1983, when school chums Steven and Slash were building their street cred on the Sunset Strip. Deanna witnessed it all but has never told her incredible story, until now. In honest, direct prose, Deanna gives an unflinching account of her son Steven’s drug fueled ascent to becoming the co-founder of Guns N’ Roses, and his subsequent fall to drugs and alcohol. In one of the most brutally raw, revealing books written on substance abuse, Deanna delivers a powerful, inspirational message of hope to anyone dealing with opioid addition. In addition to Deanna’s incredible story of a mother’s devotion to her infamously self-destructive son, "Sweet Child of Mine" exposes the growing widespread abuse of prescription drugs, a dangerous national epidemic. Readers will discover that Dr. Howard Kornfeld, Steven’s Opioid Rehab doctor in 1995, prescribed dozens of drugs, including anti-anxiety, and sleeping and pain pills that totaled over $2,000.00 a month. Deanna confronts Dr. Kornfeld, the pharmacist, and Big Pharma but is politely stonewalled. She shows us the doctor’s prescription print-out as evidence of the staggering number of drugs prescribed to Steven. The final shock is when we discover that Dr. Kornfeld is the same doctor who is brought in, over 20 years later, by music legend Prince at the time of his passing. As of this writing, Dr. Kornfeld continues his work through Recovery Without Walls. Through over 25 failed rehab attempts, multiple suicide attempts, two heart attacks, and a debilitating stroke, Deanna refused to give up on Steven. Today Steven is clean and sober, back on the road and triumphantly touring with Slash, Duff, and Axl on the newly reunited Guns N’ Roses tour. This book's message is simple and clear: one can despair but never lose hope, and never quit. Deanna believes the best is always yet to come and for readers, the inspirational rewards are immediate, and real. Sweet Child of Mine: How I Lost My Son to Guns N’ Roses is the story of Deanna Adler, mother of legendary rock star and original G N’ R drummer Steven Adler. Deanna gives an honest and revealing look into a life beset by abuse and betrayal and what it was like raising a child who became a member of one of the greatest rock bands in history, and a heroin addict of equally epic proportions. The book emotionally and enthrallingly details a mother’s love for her infamous son, whose phenomenal success is surpassed only by his astounding capacity for self-destruction. Sweet Child of Mine is the universal journey of a mother’s devotion to her child, filled with moments of both profound joy and crippling heartache. Deanna takes readers on a roller coaster ride through raising a troubled young boy who ultimately reached the pinnacle of fame and success, only to then be publicly branded a junkie and kicked out of his band in front of a television audience of millions; go on to endure continuing addiction, legal battles, financial ruin, two heart attacks, multiple suicide attempts, a debilitating stroke, and numerous stints in rehab. But it is her courage and indomitable spirit that both educates and inspires, as she is living proof that devotion to family, a sense of humor, and faith in a higher power are the foundations for achieving peace and purpose in life.

Sunrise Sunset

Listen to "Sunrise Sunset" on Spreaker. No day passes that I don't fall witness to the sun rising then setting. Easily I could pin it to my Native American Spirituality studies where we are to be grateful for all four sides of the gate. But I believe it runs deeper into the soil. There are sounds endlessly playing during the presentation of a new sun and one that's set to rest. But are you listening? Why is it always coldest right before the sun rises? How thick is the coat a morning dove wears because it's always out there gently cooing? I'm not the only one that enjoys a sun rising and a sun setting. You post them on social media all the time. But one thing is missing. Your story...

Hmmm Interesting

Listen to "Hmmm Interesting" on Spreaker. I love creating moments that invite a deeper conversation. The response often heard "Hmmm interesting." It's not that I want to gain access to more attention. I just ask a lot of questions. I want to know why more than I want to praise. It helps in keeping the foundation of leadership moving in forward motion. Too often we get lazy with old habits and statements without realizing that yesterday's news has nothing to do with tomorrows successes. Rather than beat around the bush. I take subjects and bend the pattern of expectation. Most people walk away. I laugh out loud. Being aware of your presence is a far more greater place to stand. Growing together means having equal time to share opposite ends of the experience stick. Learn to listen more. Everybody at the conference table has leadership in their soul.

Caroline Jones

Listen to "New Comer Caroline Jones Tough Guys" on Spreaker. Caroline Jones is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer & radio show host. She coproduced her forthcoming country album with Grammy and Academy Award-winning producer Ric Wake (Trisha Yearwood, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston ). The lead single, “Tough Guys” is a tongue-in-cheek country stomper that speaks to personal empowerment. The single is off to a fast start – SiriusXM radio’s “The Highway” channel is already playing the song. Ms. Jones, raised in Connecticut and currently living in Florida, fell in love with country music at 16, when she first visited Nashville & attended a writer’s round at the Bluebird Cafe. Enthralled with Music City’s community of singers, songwriters and musicians, Caroline researched the rich history of country music, modeling her songwriting after Willie Nelson, Hank Williams, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, and Vince Gill. Caroline states “I most admire these artists because they are great songwriters and musicians as well as vocalists”. Of late she has been inspired by contemporary artists Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban & the Zac Brown Band. Listening to those artists motivated Caroline to follow their lead and become a first class musician in her own right: she wrote all the songs and played all of the instruments (guitar, banjo, harmonica, keyboards, and lap steel) on the record with the exception of bass and drums, played by Nashville studio veterans Glenn Worf and Nir Z. Caroline’s Sirius XM radio show “Art & Soul” airs bi-monthly on The Coffee House channel and delves inside the art of songwriting to the “soul of the song” with guest singer/songwriters including Butch Walker, Regina Spektor, James Bay & Steve Cropper. Ms. Jones has toured hundreds of schools & universities nationwide in the past 5 years, including Andover, Exeter, Choate, Hotchkiss, Taft & the University of Virginia. She founded “The Heart is Smart” Initiative & School Tour, inspiring and providing a medium of expression through music with her performances and workshops that have touched over 150,000 students to date. She also partnered with motivational speaker Stedman Graham and The Sonima Foundation to bring “The Heart is Smart” program to over 100 public schools and underserved communities on the Live Sonima Tour. Caroline has performed at Julliard, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall, with residencies at Café Carlyle & Feinstein’s. She has shared bills with a wide range of artists including James Taylor, The Beach Boys, Dave Matthews, Paul Simon, O.A.R, Ani DiFranco, Ziggy Marley & The Wailers, Grace Potter & Patti Smith. Plans are now in the works to release a full-length album in the first quarter of 2017, with a nationwide tour to follow. What Is It Like

Listen to "What Is It Like" on Spreaker. I am blessed to get the opportunity to lecture on different campuses every week. At the beginning and end I'm always met with the same question "What is it like?" I'm guilty of using the same words. I'm a people watcher! People that watch are very inquisitive about paths of choice. Being open with your imagination is a fun adventure but ultimately you need to truly exercise your communication skills and verbally ask the question "What is it like?" I'm a daily writer. To put anything down on paper I have to use all of my senses. From sight to sound to smell and touch. Utilizing the energy offered by all allows me to reach deeper into my imagination. To pull away from concept and create actuality. Because I dip my nib into an ink well while writing. My fingers are always stained. I laugh. I know where I've been. Now it's your turn. Ask yourself "What is it like?" You can learn more about yourself and others if you make as well as take the time to create the effort to listen.

Gene Stone

Listen to "Gene Stone The Trump Survival Guide" on Spreaker. You may remember author Gene Stone from his 2004 satirical bestseller The Bush Survival Bible. This time, instead of satire, Stone offers a serious call to action for people looking for answers and ways to mobilize following Trump’s victory. The stunning election results rocked an already divided America and left scores of citizens, including the nearly sixty-five million voters who supported Hillary Clinton, feeling bereft and powerless. THE TRUMP SURVIVAL GUIDE offers guidance and concrete solutions they can use to make a difference, showing them how to move from anger and despair to activism. Since we need to be clear about the battles ahead before we can successfully engage, Stone outlines the major social and political issues at stake for America. These include: Civil Rights, the Economy, Education, Energy, Entitlement Programs, the Environment, Immigration, LGBTQ Issues, National Security, Obamacare, Political issues, and Women’s issues. He offers a brief history of each, a refresher on Obama’s policies, and an analysis of what Trump’s administration might do to undermine their existing progress. And most importantly, Stone provides an invaluable guide for fighting back, referring readers to specific organizations, websites, books, and countless other resources they can use to support positive and progressive action. Among Stone’s advice: contact your representatives, sign petitions, deploy social media, stay informed, get involved, educate others, join boycotts, volunteer, donate money, report hate crimes, and make allies. (Please see below for a sample of specific recommendations from the book.) While marches and social media are important forms of protest, concrete actions achieve real change. Positive and reinforcing, THE TRUMP SURVIVAL GUIDE presents the essential information we need to effectively make our voices heard and our power felt. In THE TRUMP SURVIVAL GUIDE, Gene Stone offers a trove of actionable advice and shares countless resources.

Judas Priest

Listen to "Rob Halford From Judas Priest Remastered Turbo" on Spreaker. British metal legends Judas Priest announce the reissue of their 10th studio album, Turbo. The album has been remastered and will be released via Sony Music on 3rd February 2017 on 3CD (the original album and 2 bonus discs) as well as 1LP 150g vinyl. Originally released in 1986, Turbo features all the hallmarks of classic Priest on tracks such as “Turbo Lover”, “Parental Guidance” and “Locked In”. Included on disc 2 and 3 of the CD reissue is, previously unreleased, ‘Live in Kansas City’, a live recording from the band’s 1986 Fuel For Life tour in support of Turbo. The band add “The 80’s is considered to have been the best decade for heavy metal – Judas Priest roared through it and at the half way point went into unchartered territory with ‘Turbo’. Always believing that metal should have no boundaries, Priest challenged themselves taking on board new technical inventions to create fresh ideas and push their sound forward. The combined songs show another side of Priest’s range of creativity that captures a theme and energy infused with the over the top sensibilities of that era. The ‘Fuel For Life’ tour certainly encapsulated the decadence of the times! ‘Turbo’ remastered and accompanied by a pedal to the metal live recording from Kansas reveals Priest on high octane – Raising fists and devil horns to the next level.” Tracklisting DISC ONE – TURBO: REMASTERED 1.Turbo Lover 2.Locked In 3.Private Property 4.Parental Guidance 5.Rock You All Around The World 6.Out In The Cold 7.Wild Nights, Hot & Crazy Days 8.Hot For Love 9.Reckless DISC TWO – LIVE AT THE KEMPER ARENA, KANSAS CITY 1.Out In the Cold 2.Locked In 3.Heading Out To The Highway 4.Metal Gods 5.Breaking The Law 6.Love Bites 7.Some Heads Are Gonna Roll 8.The Sentinel 9.Private Property 10. Be A Teacher

Listen to "A Teacher First" on Spreaker. You can't blame this on getting old. But there used to be a day when Department Heads and Operation Managers took the time to keep the business landscape growing forward. There's no need to waste ink talking about the present place. Unless you're willing to mentally and physically do something about it. You didn't get to be without there being a journey. It's not about being top dog or placement on the ladder. In everything you've learned by trial and error. You should be teaching it to a growing generation. But we don't do that. We win and we lose. Then return to our self designed cocoon. Firmly I believe we were born to be teachers. Instead of complaining about a staff of weak dreamers and desireless wanderers. Show them the very effort your early year bosses put into your veins. Be strong. Teach them how important it is to want to belong. Here's the punch to your heart. If you don't teach your art. Then you aren't grateful for the gifts you've been given.

Steve Void

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Steve Void On Music Exploration" on Spreaker. In many ways the electronic age of music is still locked inside its womb. Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Quintino On How It Happened" on Spreaker. It's that dot on the map that most of us can still see. The moment we first fell in love with music. His latest release on rBeatz Radio is Can't Fight It.

Don't Let Them Let You Inside

Listen to "Dont Be Afraid To Reach Beyond" on Spreaker. Getting on the inside. A dangerous game that doesn't always invite peace. Instead it's pieces. We're all guilty of trying to help a friend or family member. We do all we can to get on the inside of the way they think, act and or react. Not a good place. In fact I believe there should be a sign above the door of every person's inside that reads "Leave this for the professionals." Being that go to person to help pick someone up or help guide them to a safer way of thinking is a very dangerous beginning middle and continuation. Being unconditional is brilliant. But it doesn't play with the unprotected territory of being on the inside. We all have a lot going on on the inside. 80% of it never reaches the outside. It just builds up. Only to take on the shape of another voice once freed. Christians love helping other Christians and non-believers. No where is it written that you have a backstage pass to the inside. Leave it for the professionals. Be loving by providing a path in that direction.

Alessia Cara

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Alessia Cara The Inner Beauty" on Spreaker. I've always called it street speak. Song lyrics that connect with reality rather than fantasy. Taylor Swift basically opened her heart and an entire career fell into the ears of fans. Alessia Cara is the latest to put herself out there with authentic writing. Her latest song on rBeatz Radio Scars To Your Beautiful isn't an open wound but rather a place to locate well deserved acceptance.

Giorgio Moroder

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Giorgio Moroder The Beginning" on Spreaker. He says his greatest collaboration was with the Queen of Disco Donna Summer. In 2017 Giorgio Moroder is still mixing dance beats. Has it always been this way? What are the true roots of the imagination that's put more butts on the dance floor than any other? His latest release on rBeatz Radio has him teamed up with Karen Harding with Good For Me.

Tommy Roe

Listen to "Tommy Roe From Cabbagetown To Tinseltown" on Spreaker. Tommy Roe, one of the most influential and foundational figures in popular music and the “Father of Bubblegum Pop,” has finally written an autobiographical account of his life. From Cabbagetown to Tinseltown, featuring co-writer Michael Robert Krikorian, is available today at Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, various independent book stores, and online at TommyRoe.com and Amazon.com. Roe has had four Gold Records: “Sheila,” “Dizzy,” “Sweet Pea” and “Jam Up and Jelly Tight.” He has also had 4 Billboard top 100 Albums. He is a member of the Rockabilly Hall of Fame, The Iowa Rock and Roll Association Hall of Fame, as well as the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. In his book From Cabbagetown to Tinseltown, Roe correlates his journey to Hollywood with the historical events of that time period that were changing and shaping America and, in turn, the music industry. In this autobiography, Roe doesn’t hold back. He uses his down-home humor and unique perspective to share about his years and experiences both inside and outside of music. “My journey from a working class section of Atlanta called Cabbagetown to the glamour that is Hollywood was anything but easy. I stuck by my principles and values making a name for myself that I could be proud of. Writing this book was sometimes a struggle for me and very carthartic indeed. It took the better part of three years, and brought back a lot of memories, the good and the bad. I have been truly blessed to live this life, and I’m glad that I can look back with no regrets.” said Roe. Tommy Roe is a multifaceted, international artist who wrote, co-wrote, and recorded six Top 10 hits between 1962 and 1969 more than any single artist/songwriter during that period of the sixties. Tommy has four RIAA Certified Gold Records, and two of his hits, "Sheila" and "Dizzy", topped the Billboard chart at #1. With a total of 11 records reaching the Billboard Top 40 and 23 Billboard Top 100 chart records, Tommy is considered one of the early pioneers of the American Pop music culture. In the spring of 1966 with his release of the smash hit, “Sweet Pea,” spring breakers started to hit the beaches in Florida, and they embraced the new sound that Tommy had created called Bubblegum. However, some in the media was not as receptive as his fans were to the new genre Roe had created. They began voicing their opinion by malevolently labeling him “The King of Bubblegum.” That didn’t matter. As the 1970s began, Roe was still high on the charts. Since 1962 when “Sheila” topped the Billboard charts in the US and in England Tommy has traveled the world as a singer songwriter always leaving his fans with a smile in their heart. More recently, Roe scored big with his hits, “Devil’s Soul Pile” and “Memphis Me.” His new music parts ways with his expected style. Roe’s new style really showcases his talent as both a singer and a songwriter. Roe hasn’t let the success of his career stop him from doing what he loves. He continues to write new songs and perform around the globe.

Doug Abrams

Listen to "Doug Abrams Book Of Joy" on Spreaker. Joy and happiness cannot be found in pursuit of any goal or achievement. It does not reside in fortune or fame. It resides only in the human mind and the human heart. And it’s here where we hope you will find it." —HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA and ARCHBISHOP DESMOND TUTU His Holiness and the Archbishop, both Nobel Laureates, have only met a handful of times. Yet, their particular backgrounds and positions have helped them to forge an unusual and unique friendship. The intention of their historic weeklong conversation was to give the world a lasting legacy: the teaching that one must not seek happiness, which is fleeting, but to instead approach every moment of our lives with a deep joy, which is lasting. THE BOOK OF JOY is not simply a transcript of the week in Dharmasala; instead, it is a journey, told in their own words. We learn how in spite of the hardships His Holiness and the Archbishop have faced and all the atrocities they have witnessed, they have become two of the world’s most joyous people. We learn too of the personal moments of joy and compassion they have experienced, that have again and again proven the strength and dignity of humans worldwide. As Doug Abrams, co-writer and moderator of the week says, “these men share a bond that transcends the brief time they have spent together, and each considers the other his ‘mischievous spiritual brother’. This was truly a magical and historic meeting. Given their health and global politics, it may be the last time they will be able to see each other.” Through the story of a beautiful friendship, discussion of neuroscience and other scientific studies, moving personal stories of apartheid and the exile from Tibet and even a few bad jokes, The Book of Joy answers the question we all ask: how do we find joy in the face of life’s inevitable suffering?

Steve Jones

Listen to "Steve Jones Lonely Boy" on Spreaker. Without the Sex Pistols there would be no punk. And without Steve Jones there would be no Sex Pistols. It was Steve who, with his schoolmate Paul Cook, formed the band that eventually went on to become the Sex Pistols and who was its original leader. As the world celebrates the 40th anniversary of punk--the influence and cultural significance of which is felt in music, fashion, and the visual arts to this day--Steve tells his story for the very first time. Steve Jones's modern Dickensian tale began in the street of Hammersmith and Shepherd's Bush, West London, where as a lonely, neglected boy living off his wits and petty thievery he was given purpose by the glam art rock of David Bowie and Roxy Music. He became one of the first generation of ragamuffin punks taken under the wings of Malcolm McLaren and Vivienne Westwood. In Lonely Boy, Steve describes the sadness of never having known his real dad, the abuse he suffered at the hands of his stepfather, and how his interest in music and fashion saved him from a potential life of crime spent in remand centers and prisons. He takes readers on his journey from the Kings Road of the early '70s through the years of the Sex Pistols, punk rock, and the recording of "Anarchy in the UK" and Never Mind the Bollocks. He recounts his infamous confrontation on Bill Grundy's Today program--the interview that ushered in the "Filth and the Fury" headlines that catapulted punk into the national consciousness. And he delves into the details of his self-imposed exile in New York and Los Angeles, where he battled alcohol, heroin, and sex addiction but eventually emerged to gain fresh acclaim as an actor and radio host. Lonely Boy is the story of an unlikely guitar hero who, with the Sex Pistols, transformed twentieth-century culture and kick-started a social revolution.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 57

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 57" on Spreaker. I walk a lot through collected trees. There's always a story waiting for me. I'm not the writer. I've chosen to be the listener. On this particular journey I was nearly next to 20 feet to six whitetail deer. I sat listening to them with my eyes. So peaceful and yet so timid. I could hear God's whisper through their eyes. But if that statement is true. Why then are the deer so quick to run free from the scene? Then I saw the image of the human being. In this age of getting things handed to us. The moment we feel a wall or danger stands in the way we run. When do we learn the fine art of standing strong?

Saying I Am

Listen to "Saying I Am" on Spreaker. Through my personal studies I've learned that true peace begins when you remind yourself, "I am." You've chosen to identify one of the multiple gifts you've received. It's not an act of over confidence or conceit. I am... Fill in the blank. Not only does it open your heart. But it allows you to grow from an area that you might have kept in spaces only you see. For the longest time politics and religion were two things people didn't openly talk about. Today it's a different vibration. FaceBook friends are battling out their lawmaker points of view. So why not step through the wall and let people hear you say, "I am." My mother is a strong Christian but will not speak of such things with people outside the family circle. She calls it a personal relationship. I totally get it. I have to remind myself that she grew up in the age when missionaries and traveling preachers pushed open the closed off heart. When I say we are different in 2017. We are the missionary. She doesn't want to talk about it. I am...

Hello My Name Is

Listen to "Hello My Name Is" on Spreaker. I am no stranger to myself. Being a daily writer since July 1994. It's allowed me to sift through the trash and keep a firm grip on what is and isn't. While locating enough space to stop the race. Let's be honest we're all chasing the horizon. It's there. We just don't know how it's going to arrive. We take one good look at the world and realize the pictures in our imagination are a safer place. One problem. We can't live within the within. Do you truly know who it is? Ever felt like screaming, "Stranger danger!" We are inward people. But have you trusted yourself long enough to go within the within? Dark at first. Rewarding as you grow forward. Being there teaches you about the luggage you're carrying. Which allows more room for your mind body and soul to feel safe being in the present.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 56

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 56" on Spreaker. We bump into the question every day "What is?" What is your job description? What is your long term vision? What is your current goal? What is your weight loss plan? But what would happen if your "What is" was a person, place or thing? What if the only thing you were designed to do today was watch the formation of a cloud? Then watch it pour rain onto someone that needs it more than you several miles away. Your "What is" has discovered a purpose. We walk into many walls on a daily basis without realizing that being in that moment was part of the process. But who wants or desires that when progress is what makes bosses and or circles of friends happy. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers is a brilliant never ending force of energy that endlessly comes up with mouth dropping ways to get that ball down the field. We fall witness to his progress. Yet to him. That 35 yard toss comes across to me as part of his process. There's a lesson to be learned from that move and he'll deliver a better move somewhere else. Only because he studied his present "What is"

Please Lord

Listen to "Please Lord" on Spreaker. While speaking to my mind body and soul I don't think it. I physically speak it. But I do so at the level of volume known as the whisper. And yet. As of late people have become concerned because they hear me saying "Please." Not once. But a lot. I know where it's coming from. I know it in my heart and obviously upon my lips. Little lines have been appearing on my pages. I say them over and over. Lines that lift the darkness from the corners. Lines that rip the silence from assumption. Lines that invite peace to the present. It's almost like the building of a prayer or affirmation. And as I whisper it. The only thing people are hearing is "Please." Which shocks me. There's so much more to the message then just a single word. Do you carry forward the same journey? Do you have words or sentences that you whisper and rarely if ever does the passerby capture the entire process of delivery?

Communication By Way Of Writing

Listen to "Communication By Way Of Writing" on Spreaker. Being a daily writer has created my own way of street speak. I say and think things that's often labeled out of the box, out of tune, completely disconnected and whatever else someone can quickly think of. Anyone that chooses to write or keep a daily place of open conversation develops a language that will always seem a shade darker or lighter than modern day slang. But that doesn't mean you have to change. Nor does it mean the circles you keep have to get over it. You are who you are. Writing is a language all its own and you deserve to become what it sets free. Nothing gets in my way quicker than someone that says "I hate my job. I don't know what to do." Seriously? Instantly you just told the world that you aren't in touch with the core of your tree trunk. Knowing yourself begins with a conversation. Not thoughts. Open aired thoughts are dangerous and there's no documentation of where you were in that moment. Gain the strength and begin a process of writing daily. It's a tough mountain to move. But if you do it one rock at a time. Your journey will be a life of less stress and more success. Because it was your choice to listen.

A favorite with both critics and fans, Full Circle has been prominent on many 2016 Year End Best Of Lists."....strong enough to stand as a career capper - but it's lively enough to suggest she's far from ready to quit," wrote Rolling Stone in its 40 Best Country Albums of 2016 list while Entertainment Weekly called it "...one of her warmest, most memorable collections ever. That her gorgeous, distinctive vocal has lost none of its shine is just the cherry on top." "Her clear, honey-sweet voice twangs earnestly, resolutely, and without a scarp of hesitation," observed Noisey, "because even at age 84, the coal miner's daughter is still a force of nature."

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 55

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 55" on Spreaker. I sat in the very cold forest waiting for the seasons first snow. Taking note of the other living things around me. I realized only the human seemed to be rushed and or upset that their chapters were being interrupted. I thought for a moment. Snow is the one thing that instantly connects all things. Rain flows. Snow is laid out. No matter where you put your foot you're connected to a tree, tall grass, a rolling hill. When it snows. You're never alone. Learn to look beyond the uncomfortable feeling of what weather brings and study the habit of God's other living creatures. The peace you seek is resting within the elements that make up your moment. Nick Petrie

Listen to "Nicholas Petrie 2017 Burning Bright" on Spreaker. With BURNING BRIGHT, the second thriller featuring damaged war veteran Peter Ash, Nick Petrie once again supplies a singular blend of riveting action and thoughtful observation cloaked in a non-stop plot. Ash first appeared in Petrie’s acclaimed debut, The Drifter. Ash has survived numerous tours of duty in Afghanistan and Iraq, but his return home to the States has proven anything but smooth. Reluctantly emerging from periods of self-imposed isolation, he finds himself in uncomfortable scenarios, navigating tenuous encounters with others. But the expertise he acquired in war—and during his rural Wisconsin childhood—is be put to use as he becomes entangled in dangerous situations. Character Peter Ash is a Marine Corps veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan who survived his wars in one piece, but finds himself living with post‐traumatic stress on his return home. His PTSD has made him claustrophobic, so it’s difficult for him to be indoors for even a relatively short time. But like many of the veterans Nick Petrie spoke to during the writing of these books, Peter hasn’t lost his strong desire to help others and be useful in the world. When writing The Drifter, Petrie didn’t have a grand plan to write a series of books centered on veterans’ issues. But the more research he did on the challenges facing veterans, the more vivid and important these issues became to him. He hopes that readers gain a better understanding of what veterans go through when they get home. For readers who are veterans, he hopes they recognize some part of themselves in these characters.

Clinton Kelly

Listen to "Clinton Kelly I Hate Everyone Except You" on Spreaker. Bestselling author and television host Clinton Kelly pens a hilariously candid, deliciously snarky collection of essays about his journey from awkward kid to slightly-less-awkward adult. Clinton Kelly is probably best known for teaching women how to make their butts look smaller. But in I Hate Everyone, Except You, he reveals some heretofore-unknown secrets about himself, like that he’s a finicky connoisseur of 1980s pornography, a disillusioned critic of New Jersey’s premier water parks, and perhaps the world’s least enthused high-school commencement speaker. Whether he’s throwing his baby sister in the air to jumpstart her cheerleading career or heroically rescuing his best friend from death by mud bath, Clinton leaps life’s social hurdles with aplomb. With his signature wit, he shares his unique ability to navigate the stickiest of situations, like deciding whether it’s acceptable to eat chicken wings with a fork on live television (spoiler: it’s not). Clinton delves into all these topics—and many more—in this thoroughly unabashedly frank and uproarious collection.

William R Forstchen

Listen to "William R. ForstchenThe Final Day" on Spreaker. A major release in the New York Times bestselling One Second After series, set in an alternate America rebuilding after an electromagnetic pulse, this is William R. Forstchen's The Final Day. Since the detonation of nuclear weapons above the United States more than two years ago, the small town of Black Mountain, North Carolina has suffered famine, civil war, and countless deaths. Now, after defeating a new, tyrannical federal government, John Matherson and his community intend to restore their world to what it was before the EMP apocalypse. For the most part, they are succeeding. This period of relative stability doesn’t last long. A new, aggressive government announces that it’s taking over and ceding large portions of the country to China and Mexico. The Constitution is no longer in effect, and what’s left of the U.S. Army has been deployed to suppress rebellion in the remaining states. John fears he and his town will be targets. General Bob Scales, John’s old commanding officer and closest friend from prewar days, is sent to bring John into line. Will John and his people accept the new, autocratic regime? Or will revolution rip the fledgling nation apart at the seams? Months before publication, William R. Forstchen’s novel One Second After was cited on the floor of Congress as a book all Americans should read. This third book in the series immerses readers once more in the story of our nation’s struggle to rebuild itself after an electromagnetic pulse wipes out all electricity and plunges the country into darkness, starvation, and death.

Brad Taylor

Listen to "Brad Taylor Ring of Fire" on Spreaker. Brad Taylor’s expertise stems from more than twenty years of experience in the US Army Special Forces, including eight years in 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment–Delta. Because of his background and up-to-date tactical and operational knowledge, Taylor has become a trusted expert for breaking news on FOX, MSNBC, Newsmax and Al Jazeera, commenting on stories as diverse as the Charlie Hebdo attack, ISIS, the Sony hack, the death of Osama Bin Laden, and Tom Clancy. In just six years, Taylor has written ten thrillers featuring series characters Pike Logan and Jennifer Cahill, part of the top secret extra-legal unit called The Taskforce, created to contain terrorist plots and global threats. Whether the threat is foreign or domestic, ISIS, Boko Haram, or radicalized American youth, the reader always gets the sense that Taylor’s plots could, and in some cases have, come true. Join Brad Taylor on January 9th as he discusses his eleventh book, RING OF FIRE, where Pike and Jennifer come face-to-face with an insidious threat to strike terror into the heart of America, coinciding with the fifteenth anniversary of 9/11. What makes reading this bestselling author’s novels a little frightening is also what makes him a well-respected and critically-acclaimed writer—the terrorist plots are stunningly realistic, and very often, terrifyingly accurate. As Booklist says: “Taylor is one of the best in the Vince Flynn line of military thrillers featuring covert operations, and he has the eerie ability to predict real-world headlines. And, somehow, he just keeps getting better and better.”

The Weight Of The World

Listen to "The Weight Of The World" on Spreaker. I love meditation and prayer. As difficult as it is to find true focus. Amazing growth pushes your senses beyond belief. On FaceBook Twitter and Instagram our imaginations are taken over by requests for prayer. I sit back and think after reading each message. I go into deep wonder. If I pray. Will they activate their own words? How often have you heard, "Give it to God." Then walk away from the exchange knowing the Great Creator's got it handled. But what are you doing to help the process grow free of the season? Not a guilt trip! Just a better understanding of how to activate the request. Don't just set it free. Do more than pray to God. Change the direction of the wind. Pray with God. Work with the relationship without treating the big guy like an employee.

Elehante

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Elephante Behind The Name" on Spreaker. Names don't suddenly show up on the entertainer. There's a purpose behind the process. Elephante's name grew from inspiration. He knew where he needed to be in music. Not being there was an elephant in the room. His latest release has him performing with Brandyn Burnette. A tune called Plans.

Martin Solveig

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Martin Solveig On DJ Scene" on Spreaker. The true community of festival DJ's isn't as large as some might assume. Although there are times of great conversation. The longer road exposes that most masters of music are the road and or in the studio endlessly working on new projects. Martin Solveig is one such creative mind. His latest release on rbeatz Radio is Places.

Jamie Lee

Listen to "Jamie Lee Weddiculous" on Spreaker. Weddiculous - An Unfiltered Guide to Bring a Bride Weddings have become ridiculous. But that doesn’t mean you have to give in to the crazy—or give up completely. Famous funny gal Jamie Lee has taken her own bridal experience and channeled it into a useful guide, putting those anxiety-inducing wedding websites into perspective and giving brides the real lowdown from someone who knows how utterly bananas wedding planning can be. Flying by the seat of her Spanx, Jamie documents the ups and downs of getting married while offering a fresh perspective on rings, relatives, and ridiculously tiny crostini. Jamie Lee’s irreverent guide to planning a wedding offers practical advice on the things that no one tells you about “the big-ish day,” and hilarious, unforgettable stories from her own wedding planning journey. Weddiculous ( On Sale January 2017) brings a much-needed voice to this crazy and stressful time by balancing a refreshingly real attitude with helpful tips and answers to the questions not addressed by standard wedding guides. This is the book that’s been missing from the wedding section shelves! Weddiculous will help you breeze through the “I Do’s” (and avoid the “I Don’ts”) with tips, including: * How to keep your cool in the midst of difficult bridesmaids, nosy in-laws, and freaked out fiancés * What questions to ask vendors, how to handle awkward budget conversations, and what’s worth forking out money for…or more importantly, what’s not! * Why comparing your relationship, your body, or your wedding day to others’ is a perfect waste of your time and sanity * Comforting support through normal doubts and dilemmas. Cold feet? Jamie can help warm them! * When to ignore the recommendations of “Big Bridal,” and how to confidently make the most important decisions you never knew existed You may not realize this, but January is the big month for wedding planning. Take a look at the stats: * 33% of engagements happen between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day. * Christmas Eve is the most popular day to get engaged, followed by Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. * There is an average of 40,400 weddings every weekend, with an annual total of 18 million bridesmaids and groomsmen and 295 million wedding guests. * 100% of engaged couples are stressed, panicked, but SO EXCITED!!! Jamie will probably be appearing in her wedding gown everywhere, because she got married this year -- and she wants to get her money’s worth on the dress. (Plus everyone told her she’s never looked better.) Check out her appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden: http://www.weddiculousbook.com/jamie-lee/
