Create Change

Listen to "Create Change" on Spreaker. January 29, 2021 I think our new common ground is the eerie feeling of being tied up. Living in a box. Today is just like the past 365. It’s not that we’re aren’t trying to break free. Every day is a new way to shatter the glass windows surrounding uncertainty. We stand inside the aura of new experience while remaining tied to the strings attached to the presence of this day being just like day number 203. It’s us! Look at what we do daily, hourly and minute by minute! We’re repeaters. From the websites we visit, the newscasts we feverishly view to the conversations shared with friends, family and new acquaintances. The circle of life. Round and round. I start each new morning checking into every news outlet on the planet. I have to make the concerted effort to decide if the world is still spinning. Double click I’m in. Only to do it again. It’s the same story on the websites every day! Only the headlines change. This anchor we carry has got to be cut loose. It’s time to discipline ourselves. To make serious changes in our content and information gathering habits. More importantly we need to change the subject with the people we’re sharing face to face time with. I’m on the frontline. You think I’m listening to my heart? I’m listening to your conversations ten feet away. Maybe it’s the masks but people are speaking louder and without concern of being overheard. The same stories every day! No wonder we feel like we’re tied up. We’re acting like there’s nothing new to talk about. Maybe psychology will one day show that our need for human connection is to swap updates. It’s time to challenge our inner voices. Make the change. Make the solid effort to enforce new discovery. Instead of complaining about movie theaters being closed, open a conversation with talk about the latest flick on Netflix. Don’t be afraid to talk about your latest binge watch. Don’t bring up how bad remote learning is for your kids, find something positive. You can’t have a negative without comparing it to a positive. Locate the positive. Yes politics suck. It’s all over the place. You can be too. If change is to be made support someone who has your beliefs. Help them stay in office without having to live off what’s causing a storm. Become part of the rainbow or the dove carrying the olive branch. Change the subject. Change how we greet each new day. Don’t allow the headlines to change you first. Jump! I guarantee one thing when you move through my line, we’ll never talk about the same thing twice. Your turn.

Nidra Meditation

Listen to "Nidra Meditation" on Spreaker. January 28, 2021 Learning to trust the atmosphere while it’s moving through you. Click. Hang up. Too deep already? Being on the frontline I experience a lot. We’re in the center of changing the ways we think, live and attempt to rest. I see what you’re buying. Melatonin is a hot purchase. Being one who’s walked that path I grip the moment of the new age challenge. Anxiety levels are through the roof which causes the human mind to lay awake or locate difficulties in trying to get a full night’s sleep. I am no expert. Always reach out to those who are trained for such difficulties. The late night struggles to get any kind of rest has been a lifelong journey for me. HATED IT when the sleep expert went a completely different route then what my personal studies were drawing. Then again. I’m not the professional. Only the one experiencing wide awake moments from midnight to 4am. While growing within the beauty of martial arts I found peace in meditation. So much so my brick breaks were fed 100% by the power of meditation. You can see the videos on arroe.net. The more I grew with meditation the less Melatonin and other sleeping pills I took. My studies. Remember I’m not a professional. The studies pulled me toward Nidra. But to fully understand it and how it works I suggest you truly put yourself into its history and read everything you can to understand the process and progress of allowing it to be a positive choice. Millions rely on Transcendental Meditation. I’ve not been in that area of the universe because of the success I’ve had with Nidra. Why swap it out because a Beach Boy and Howard Stern speak highly of it? Cleansing the mind is a walk through life. A journey. You aren’t fixed overnight. Nidra has though taken my moments of deep rest into areas of question. The visions or pictures felt and seen feel very real and they’re quite emotional. Rather than running from the purpose and or reason why it’s being experienced the goals have been to study Nidra even more. If and when you reach such places of peace you are to allow the experience to move through you. The very second you take note of where your mind body and soul are, meditation is over. Awareness is a brilliant tool but it can keep you from locating rest. Never analyze the visions and or pictures. It keeps your heart away from why you are a student and activator of Nidra. I never say I practice meditation. We practice in sports. With meditation we activate. When you wake up at 2am. Rather than feeding the moment with disappoint embrace it by celebrating that you still have three to five hours more rest coming your way. Recognize it. Then give it permission to move through you. If anxiety has overtaken your thought process and emotions the same method of release is activated. If you’re waking up to harsh questions about life, the pandemic, politics, family issues and all other things that create depression, doubt, fear and shame whisper to yourself, “I can give you better answers if you let me rest. I will be stronger in the morning. Please let’s rest in this moment and not create a release.” Remember I am not a professional. Always seek an expert. My journey with Nidra is like everything else in life, there are never two the same. Accepting what keeps you awake isn’t losing the battle. It’s allowing your space to find a place where rest and peace must always come first.

Remove Do Not Replace

Listen to "Remove Do Not Replace" on Spreaker. January 27, 2021 So many things crisscross through our abilities to think. Is it wise to cross pollenate what lives within the mindsets? Let me break it down. A text message from a family member or friend doesn’t fit too well in your heart. It gets tangled up with a thought your boss from a different location just threw out there while circling the pressure of remote learning from your kids, the rent is due already and news of the pandemic taking 500,000 by the end of February. So many things crisscross through our abilities to think. Is it wise to cross pollenate what lives with in the mindsets? Your soul is getting a daily beating. Listening to the inner core of actuality is what sets up this new age thinking pattern. Ask yourself with transparency at hand, “What am I able and capable of handling?” That means you’re gonna have to face what triggers you. Over the past 52 weeks our methods of communicating not only to ourselves but others has drastically changed. So many hardworking deeply dedicated employees are hiding behind their Zoom. It’s not face to face. Not in the way of what used to be. More than ever we’ve learned to read people’s eyes more than their lips. Our body language in public and on Zoom is a book cover and it’s being judged. We need to remove that stigma and make the power of peace our first choice. It’s time you go onto Zoom alone and watch your facial expressions. Put your mask on in the bathroom mirror and look deeper into your eyes. The shape is the new body language. When you’re clogged and torn up by everything that’s falling apart your eyes tell the story long before people reach you. I’ve started a new mission in my daily writing. Remove. Do not replace. We’re carrying so much mental trash that it’s nothing more than added weight. Remove. Do not replace. Guilty! I don’t want to be in this mood so I will replace it with this one. Oops that one didn’t work. Let me try this mood. Remove. Do not replace. When you replace a mindset with another it’s going to serve as a trigger. A Firestarter. When we don’t want to deal we replace. The new goal is to remove. If we don’t clear the path of the murky mud caused by modern day reality we’re going to keep slipping back into old habits and depression. Remove. Do not replace. Every day when I step into my Defrag journal it’s not a boss critiquing an employee but rather a heart collaborating with empty. How many years into your life is it going to take for you to shake hands with the inner source of self? Make the time to make room. Remove. Do not replace.

Unplugged and Totally Uncut January 26th

Today January 26th on Unplugged and Totally Uncut... Only once during the nearly two decades-long war in Afghanistan has an active-duty combat member been pulled from duty due to the deaths of two family members in war. Beau Wise is that man. His brother, Navy SEAL combat veteran Jeremy Wise was killed in a suicide bombing that targeted the CIA. A terrorist sleeper agent working with al Qaeda's second-in-command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, perpetrated the sneak attack, which marked the worst loss of life for the CIA in a quarter century. Less than three years later, U.S. Army Green Beret sniper Ben Wise was fatally wounded after volunteering for a dangerous assignment during a firefight with the Taliban. Jeremy received the Intelligence Star, one of the rarest awards bestowed by the U.S. government, and also a star on the CIA's Memorial Wall. The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 233

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 233" on Spreaker. January 26, 2021 We’ve openly discussed how much life has changed. These past eleven months have been brutal. Let it also be known that it’s more than just us. The atmosphere has evolved. Sure, we’d all like to locate the single key that’ll free us from a lifestyle we didn’t choose. The wilderness remains untamed. Even before Covid took its mighty swing at us I spent a lot of time in my forest. Conversations fed by a willingness to have a relationship. To be present with availability. To stand with the long grasses, hairy vines, slow moving stream and birds of many. Tuning into each of their energies has its fair share of healing. What brings me to this story is a single sentence or thought that was constantly spoken while growing within the Black Belt life. Learn to love all living things. Not just humans. Not just the cool bugs. Not just a blossoming tree. Learn to love all living things. The human spirit finds great joy in running into the forest to take its energy. But what are you giving back? Any forest needs just as much love as we do. I remember meeting mine in November of 1992. Acid rain beaten. Thin with no essence of presence. It became my calling to replenish the soil with seventeen hundred seedlings. As trees grew so did life. The animals slowly made their way back into this very tiny dot on the map. Learn to love all living things. Sharing through all seasonal changes. Yesterday was a dark, gloomy, rainy day. But it didn’t keep me from the forest. We expect Mother Nature’s peace to fix us during storms. Why aren’t we present with them during theirs? The beauty of the forest is the creation of the story. In any park you visit. Any art gallery or place of creative energy. Open your arms to the empowerment of creation. Stop taking. Give. Allow all living things to help you define your unperfected circle of choice. Uncertainty has captivated the travelers we hold inside. No day since March has felt like a moment of release and relief. Until we learn to recognize the importance of healing. Visit a collection of trees. Put your mind and soul in moments of art moving forward. Learn to love all living things.

Stream Thinking Delusion

Listen to "Stream Thinking Delusion" on Spreaker. January 25, 2021 Stream thinking. Taking what’s moving through your present place of Now and allowing yourself to fill one page. A ten minute time limit. Whatever drops into your thoughts, that’s the subject. Delusion. The dictionary defines it as a belief or impression that’s firmly maintained despite being contradicted by what’s accepted as reality or rational argument. Delusion. The depth of one’s thoughts and actions. Does it serve as a free ticket to ride? John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Were they delusional? The greatest songwriters of all time and they took over the world. Most creative people are looked upon as being somewhat delusional. Not truly in touch with the realms of reality. Too busy creating. Does that really make them a hot spot for delusion? A church that openly invites 195 people to a praise party during a pandemic. No masks. Nobody standing six feet apart. The positive? Maybe 10 to 15 followers found God. Lives changed. It’s easier to be forgiven then to get permission. Isn’t that how we live our lives? That moment though. 195 people. No masks. Nobody six feet apart. Were those in charge delusional? For a solid year we’ve read about and watched the news stories. Covid 19 clusters are dangerous. Who decides the rules of delusion? Those in the decision seat, can they be delusional on what they believe? Delusion.

Pain Management

Listen to "Pain Management" on Spreaker. January 22, 2021 As age sets in. And it does for everyone. As it sets in so does pain. Each day feels a little different but it’s still part of life’s wave and way. Through pain management I’m usually pretty good at keeping the process under control. Until it begins to infect dreams. How is that possible? I’ve always been told there’s no pain in what we see and experience through dreams. Which is why we can fall off huge mountains and buildings and come out uninjured. I had to look into it. Do we feel our physical pain while dreaming? Research shows that nothing’s been proven except for what’s experienced during REM. The story explains that the chance of there being pain in a dream might be associated with what’s being felt while waking up. Not while sleeping. As we age body aches tend to heighten with everybody and every body. We push our systems beyond normal limits. This includes the amazing amount of hours spent binge watching the flat screen or sitting behind the computer during remote working or learning. We are hurting! Because of meditation, ice, heat and frequency music I’m able to move with the pain. Meaning Tylenol and Advil are my go to. Frequency music plays a huge role in healing because it unlocks the deeper core of thinking. You can easily locate this on YouTube. A daily diet with frequency music enables the body to grow beyond the presence of being stalled in bouts of pain. The attempt to understand pain is an angle that doctors can’t even explain. A Native American Medicine Man once said to me, “Doctors practice medicine.” Practice. That’s all I needed. While there’s really no cure for aging and the pains that arrive with it, the mission is to manage it. To make the right choices while steering this ship in multitudes of direction. In doing so we must always be aware of how a simple twist can create a new pain. Look at how we use the word in our everyday language. My father used to call me a pain in the ass. As a child I thought his butt hurt. People speak of having a broken heart. That’s what I formulated in my imagination. Broken hearts with shattered shards of love on an invisible floor. I’m not an expert with pain but I live with it. Always see a professional. When it hits it’s always like a storm. When it finally moves through me it’s my Carolina sunrise. As we move through this Covid lockdown know your mind plays games with the rest of you. If it feels trapped and misunderstood then it’s going to use pain to remind you how tough it thinks things are. I write a lot. Writing is a healers. Be honest with yourself. Getting junk out of your trunk keeps the weight of life off your back. We can do this. Growing beyond pain.

You're Living History

Listen to "You're Living History" on Spreaker. January 21, 2021 Lazy or lucky? Anybody grateful? We’ve got digital devices that answer questions, “Hey Alexa what year was Jon Bon Jovi born?” Technically speaking there’s A.I.’s doing a lot of the work we used to do. We’re living through an evolution. I often wonder about who’s watching? Should the average person find reason to see and study how the atmosphere of the human touch is being lifted from the surface of modern day reality? Too sci-fi? After all, I’m a daily writer that holds a pen next to a physical sheet of paper. Talk about old fashioned! I could be saving trees by latching onto a notebook that allows me to still use my hard to create scribblings. But I choose not to. I love reaching into a journal dated several years back to feel the strength required to put ink into the page. I lightly rub my fingers over each thought and feel the energy from that moment in my present place of now. I can’t get that from a digital notebook. A major broadcast company announced in 2020 that they were moving toward a new world of A.I. presence and delivery. The evolution of unfelt emotion reaching to make a connection with the existence of a human. Too much sci-fi? How does it infect that art of being a creative mind and spirit? Musicians face the challenge every day. Authentic singer songwriters who’ve been bombard by electronics. Billie Eilish and her brother proved last year that all you need is a bedroom and a few computers to change the journey of sight and sound. Each time we open our eyes we step into the growing change. How are you participating? The Covid lockdown has shoved the business world into remote living. Why hasn’t X-Box and other gaming devices helped the millions of kids stuck at home trying to get an education. They have the technology to move through this evolution. Before you game. You must educate. Living through an evolution. Who’s watching?

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 232

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 232" on Spreaker. January 19, 2021 Words put into play inside my forest journal on November 9, 2020. I’ve done something extremely rare. It’s caused an odd feeling. Standing in my forest. I’ve come here to be present with the trees and nature’s music. The feelings deep within aren’t matching the peace filled atmosphere around me. It’s as if uncertainty has been heightened. And for what reason? We’re exhausted by the constant barrage of events crashing against the everyday headlines. This feeling. It’s not what I’m supposed to be bringing into these trees! The walks and moments of meditation have always been my connection not distraction. My concentration must find its rightful path. Being with these trees was to be the escape. I’ve carried with me the world. And is that truer message? Openness by way of awareness. To be mindful of the present. To listen. In writing this, I’m given a story of a very spiritual man that walked into a garden. The weight of the world upon his back. He stepped inside to find. Maybe that’s what we need to be doing. Instead of binge watching endless amounts of television and feverishly leaping all over social media. The best escape is the forest or garden. The universe isn’t judgmental. It knows what you’re carrying. Walk in and find. To find what? What is what? To find. One of the lessons learned while growing with meditation was being available to shut off the desire to know the answer to a question. Through social media and binge watching we’re handed an unhealthy supply of information overload. I laughed the other day when a guest was so disappointed that she couldn’t locate enough plastic boxes to store her things. She said, “With so much unpredictable moments in the world I need to get my life together.” The weight of the world in physical form. I can’t imagine what we’re carrying in our hearts and head. No need for plastic boxes. The forest or garden. Walk in and find.

Stream Thinking The Weak Will Be

Listen to "Stream Thinking The Weak That Will Be" on Spreaker. January 18, 2021 My writing discipline is to put the power of Now to work. To exercise it. To believe in it. To live by it. I stream think. One page. Ten minutes to write. No editing. The subject that jolted into place? The week that will be. Drop the microphone. Walk off the stage. The week that will be. Wait! It’s not complete. Yet, it is during this age and stage that time will put into play by way of shaping what will be. No wonder there’s so much anxiety! A pandemic sill out of control. A nation that acts divided until the NFL playoffs. At the end of the fourth quarter you can go back to your personal beliefs. 25,000 heavily armed military men and women on guard in D.D. The week that will be. A presidential inauguration. Number 46 all set to take command. The news media refuses to stop inciting the masses with the elements that which heightens fear. And they say nothing is wrong with it. The week that will be. Shaped by. Lived by. Rebuilt by. And nobody will accept responsibility. Therefore I’m changing the origin of my thought. Not the week that will be. But rather the weak that will be. How strong are you?

Visionary

Listen to "Visionary" on Spreaker. January 15, 2021 I used the word visionary in prayer this morning, “To reach out not as visionaries.” Visionary isn’t a destination. The dictionary defines it as being a person with original ideas about what the future will be like. There’s a lot of that type of forecasting taking place today. “The pandemic will be over once we get by the election.” “There’s going to be a peaceful transition of leadership power.” Or the one that always stops me in tracks, “If you follow God your life is gonna change.” I’m a Christian and that still digs at me. There’s a huge difference between following and leading. You can’t just show up. It needs to be activated. Yep. You’ve got to do the work. Because my daily discipline is to be mindful of the present, living a lifestyle of being in the Now keeps visionaries away from the path. Stop trying to write the unborn future. Look at what happened to the Pittsburgh Steelers. The top dog former players on the network Sunday shows were all out Super Bowl. Clemson went through the same challenge and change with Ohio State. Investing in a visionary’s future is legalized gambling. What about hope and faith right? Sure they come across as being able to predict the future but to hope isn’t to say. A good example is Taylor Swift. I love Taylor. Is she a music phenomenon or the product of a great promotion? Right place at the right time. She’s stronger today then she’s ever been. Because she’s in control. She’s very much aware of her presence in the Now. That’s what this is all about today. Being in control of your Now. This isn’t a knock on corporate business but the career you’re investing a lot time in belongs to the people above you. It’s their career and you happen to be part of it. I had a station operations manager once say, “My success with this company depends on your performance.” A lot of space has been created due to these Covid 19 remote working days. A daily discipline can be your new focus. President and CEO of “ME” incorporated. Get your mind and body strong in this moment of Now without investing in visionaries. Control the moment by knowing you’re present. To a visionary you’re just trying to fit into instinct. Grow forward and outward.

Watched

Listen to "Watched" on Spreaker. January 14, 2021 Interpretation. Not a big word. But one that has more energy than most. It’s always being given permission to be present in the openness of all things not always connected. Not a free pass but rather endless amounts of leeway. A good example would be to look at a painting of a bright yellow butterfly. Someone comes along and says, “Cool purple elephant.” That person’s interpretation is accepted. I’ve never thought that was right. That’s how the origin of history gets messed up and forgotten. Look at what The Crown has done on Netflix. The royal family’s story shared on the stream is a far cry from truth. It’s someone’s interpretation. The reason why I touch on this subject is because of the enormous amount of thoughts that are tapped into social media every second. Without verbal inflection the receiver is given the leeway to interpret the message. It’s accepted. Only to see how a simple thought can totally rip a forty year friendship apart. Interpretation. This is what I saw in the post. The reply or reaction has nothing to do with the initial thought. Then it becomes a hot spot filled with people arguing about different things. Another great example of how interpretation needs to be held back is how my pastor shares these incredible stories from the big book. When I return. My interpretation of the very verses he spoke of clearly aren’t the same. The more we grow into this new year of hope the more we need to place peace ahead of all things. Interpreting what someone has released should be held off by a stronger more leadership move. IM the person and ask them to lean into the conversation a little more so that you can have a better idea as to what’s being shared. Create conversation rather than disconnection. Challenge yourself to sit through a pro football game without interpreting the coach or players. Get into the idea of knowing rather than interpreting. It’ll make you a stronger leader.

I'm Cold

Listen to "I'm Cold" on Spreaker. January 13, 2021 I wish you could see this forest. Heavy thick fog bank. Twenty nine degrees. It’s cold! Very cold. Which is where I think a lot of us are. I mean, if someone were to ask me to describe what it was like to live in the days of Covid and Capitol building takeovers I’d hand them a picture of this forest. Foggy. Cold. Saw my neighbor for the first time in four weeks yesterday. I cheerfully asked about how she’s doing. Her reply, “I’m cold!” See what I mean. Physically we feel cold. What if mentally is where it begins? Your eyes are the window to your soul. That’s all I see anymore. Your eyes. It’s time to get in the bathroom mirror with a hairbrush and start singing. To watch those eyes. To learn how to use better communications with your eyes. It requires seventeen facial muscles to smile. Forty three facial muscles are put to work to frown. Your eyes rely on just six. I’m thinking it’s time to start conserving energy! Your eyes are no different than the smile and frown. The core of the source of energy you’re tossing out is fed by attitude. I’m not saying to fake the smile and go overboard on happy talk. As we approach the first year anniversary of the Covid lockdown the goal needs to be focus. Being aware of where you presently stand, think, react. Be aware of your triggers. The ups and downs. The good times and the worrisome challenges. I’m transparent when I say that living a life of mindfulness is a huge challenge in the beginning. Self judgement. Perfectionism. You want to play with the rest of the kids. To live in the past. To try to write the future. There’s a ton of peace and not pieces in your present place of Now. Know your moods and know how to utilize the strength of those moods when with someone who’s chosen to lock in on those forty three muscles required to frown. Attitude is right now. Where are you? Do you feel like crap? Are you a leader in this new age of business and can’t find anyone to support it. Screw them! Your gain! Being a positive leader with yourself first will serve as a magnet. Trust me. The friendship pyramid is going to change. Surrounding yourself with the right people removes what inspires your forty three facial muscles that make up that frown to turn things around. It all starts with being aware and mindful of your Now.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 231

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 231" on Spreaker. January 12, 2021 I’m not a dictionary freak but close to it. My writing instruments don’t come with spell check. It’s a hidden fear of what others will think of my words on paper. It’s already too far out there! I’ve always been fascinated with the way kids shape words. So often misspelled and yet I find it inspiring because their letter formations look better than what’s been labeled the right way. A good example. Receive vs Neighbor. Really? It should be knee-bur. A word that fell onto my writing page recently was unsheltered. I’m not sure why it found energy in my space other than it best describes a lot of what we’re going through. Unsheltered. I looked up the definition and was introduced to a different frame of thought. Homeless and unsheltered have a common connection but if you’re living out of a car, under a bridge or in a worn down building, it’s looked upon by decision makers as being sheltered homelessness. Unsheltered can also be your heart. Your ambition, drive and the way you think. It could be unsheltered. Making a simple choice can be a daytime nightmare. Uncertainty isn’t unsheltered. Just like homelessness they can have a connection but it’s two completely different experiences. The daily discipline is to be aware of what you’re personally defining as unsheltered. We should never allow our missions to be unsheltered. See the value of reason as being more than a description. Unsheltered means action and reaction. It invites unprotected change. You might be looking at the headlines thinking, “Oh Lord, where do we go from here?” The pandemic, politics, remote learning and office work, rent is due and so are the taxes. Don’t walk toward any answer unsheltered. While gently telling yourself, “Hey I’ve got this…” Do follow up shots. You know like Dennis Rodman of the Chicago Bulls getting rebounds. Ask, “How do I have this? How can we learn from this? Is this really what I want or am I taking up space in a pair of shoes?” Plant the seed. Awareness is always going to your four walls and a roof. Not unsheltered.

Stream Thinking Is That What You Want

Listen to "Stream Thinking Is That What You Want" on Spreaker. January 11, 2021 Stream thinking.,. The power of Now. The writing discipline is to give myself ten minutes. One page. No editing. Our greatest decisions are made in the moment of Now. Train yourself to be stronger in what is Now. Not any easy task in a world where everybody wants to build a relationship with this thing called the new normal. I want to understand it while getting it under control. We’re nearing the one year mark of the global pandemic lock down. Nothing truly feels normal except wearing masks, job loss, landlords wanting rent and the media’s continuation of pouring moving pictures and overzealous inflected points of view into our open minds and hearts. The media keeps pointing fingers at who should be blamed for inciting the Capitol riots in Washington DC. The media should also include themselves in the accusation. The talk show hosts on radio and television have spent the last four years forcing listeners and viewers to take sides. The media played the people and the people played the media. I’d love to see the research on how the 24 hour news cycle has poisoned the everyday world of the average person. Over and over they spouted their points of direction creating ample space for those receiving it to make up their mind. The media playing the people and the people playing the media. All sides are guilty of planting seeds of fear, doubt and uncertainty. The headlines endlessly changed but the story remained. Everyday people aren’t conditioned for this mental abuse of opinions becoming what millions call the real story. Inciting the riots in DC was the result of the media playing the people and the people playing the people. All sides involved know the way into other people’s hearts. It’s through weakness.

Getting Beyond The Mind

Listen to "Getting Beyond The Mind" on Spreaker. January 8, 2021 Getting beyond the mind. So often we’re told to get out of our hearts. With so much digital content moving through us day and night we’ve evolved into walking zombies. No day passes that I’m not reminded of the movie Short Circuit. The only thing the visiting alien/robot wanted was more input. We’re doing the same thing! I’m so guilty of picking up the smart phone to look up information of no real value. Only to find myself the next morning working the words on a sheet of paper with a writing instrument that I dip into an ink well. Getting beyond the mind means pushing open the thought maker. Finding a presence in this place called Now. Being on a path with direction. You know how the world works. There are way too many places where distraction has become our action. Focus isn’t given the time of day. Getting beyond the mind. Dealing with what feels like nothingness and turning it into positive sources of energy that can and will be utilized in reshaping the mindset. Be open with me. What are you mentally caught up in? You don’t want to believe it happened but reality tells you differently. My daily goals are to participate with a ray of light. To serve rather than take. All of that information on those computer screens is free for the taking. What are you doing to serve like a ray of light? Getting beyond the mind. All too often you can’t help but feel like we’ve been invaded by large groups of standup’s wanting to stand out. It’s time to reignite your imagination, your ambition and inner drive. The remnants of yesterday and the day before are where you once stood not where you presently stand. The ticks on a clock never talk. Sadly, as of late, I’ve seen a lot of people who aren’t talking as well. Not unless they’re on a personal mission or caught up in other people’s actions which has caused a reaction. Getting beyond the mind.

The Morning After

Listen to "The Morning After" on Spreaker. January 7, 2021 I have to keep reminding myself that I am a Daily Writer not a journalist. I take notes. And from those quickly jotted down expressions I learn. Free form thinking. Stream thinking. A discipline. An exercise. I used to call it talking with my eyes. Being a radio on air talent you do that so that listeners can be pulled into the conversation. Look at how great play by play announcers speak with their eyes. It’s happening right now. Allowing the heart and imagination to participate in the presence of Now. Not a journalist. They’re brilliant at crafting their connections. The research. The before and after effects. The knowledge of knowing what sells a newspaper or gets you to watch the 5:00 news five more minutes. I take notes. A Daily Writer. You can’t write for me. I can’t write for you. But we can create incredible conversation. Don’t ask me to bring up politics or religion. Mom planted that seed in my heart as a kid. That infamous list of things we should never do. But she never said, “Don’t be a conversation starter.” Hi. How are you? It’s the morning after. Which is weird to write about because anyone after this morning after isn’t going to have a clue as to what we’re experiencing. For you it might be different. That’s what I love about this connection. We get to be us. We’ve all faced a lot of morning after’s. And when you move through the moment you’re reminded of each and every one of them. Relying on personal knowledge based on greater healing. How did we get through that morning after? Now compare it to another morning after. As much as the sun makes it feel like a brand new freshly released set of 24 hours, the burden of knowing what the morning after holds keeps uncertainty at the base of our balance. Took a lot to get me going this new sun. I didn’t want to deal with life outside the front door. The morning after. Uncertainty with a different identity. As a Daily Writer the only evidence I have or hold is a moment that time will never let go. The morning after.

The Ten Minute Goal

Listen to "The Ten Minute Goal" on Spreaker. January 6, 2021 So much is moving through us. I’m talking at speeds that feel unstoppable. Yet somehow we tend to catch the mindset of the moment. Some of them we can handle. Others elevate the true existence of something we wish we had better control of and over. It’s ok to say we’ve changed as a generation. Marc Maron recently talked about how we’re starting to wear this Covid world we’re trapped in. You can see it in the wrinkles of our face. Look at the way we’re wearing our hair and clothing. Now that we’ve talked about the change, what is it we’ve changed into? What should we change into? How can we make the best change? I mean we still have that go getter winning attitude right? I heard others talk about how we’re more forgiving and understanding while developing a better relationship with patience. This must be what it feels like to move through an evolution. Put two people in the same place at the same time. They both experience the exact event. Inside an hour they’re talking about it and their version of the moment is completely different. I’m hearing this with the Covid. My two sisters have gone through the effects of the pandemic. To hear them talk was like a competition, “I did this.” “Well I did this.” “No you didn’t because this would’ve taken place!” Human nature. Always comparing. So where’s your front door? Seriously! The mindsets and mental challenges need escapes. A way out. Where’s your front door? I talk a lot about living in the presence of Now. Does that give me permission to erase? No. I just don’t find reason to keep living Ground Hog Day over and over. Should we be locating places to erase? To make room for more. Where’s your front door? How are you digesting this mess? Or are you hoarding it? Putting it in separate compartments. To deal with later. Maybe never. But we chose to carry the weight. Instead of making space. Let’s erase. Find your front door. Mine happens to be a combination of daily disciplines which include meditation, journaling, listening to frequency music designed to calm the wicked shores of our outside shell and creating new food ideas in the kitchen. Where’s your front door? Let’s create it.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 230

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 230" on Spreaker. January 5, 2021 Where is your “There?” That place you go where positive flow and energy ignite the drive forward. A relationship. Not with a person but rather a place. I once thought my “There” was Timberline near Red Lodge, Montana. In 1992 I left something of great value up on that mountain near the frigid cold lake and stream. I did that to inspire myself to keep returning to my home state. I’ve not returned to Timberline since. Therefore it’s not my “There.” On October 31, 2020 we as a world experienced something that hadn’t been lived in 76 years. Not just a full moon on Halloween but a Blue Moon. Meaning two full moons inside one month. I made it a point to be in my forest here in south Charlotte, NC. To experience it with the trees, long grasses, slow moving stream and lake. For twenty nine years we’ve had this incredible relationship. One of them being the full eclipse where everything in the middle of the day became dark and extremely silent. I’ve sat within these trees holding my fuzzy and feathered children after their passing. This is my “There.” The reason why I bring this up is because of a simple dot on the map. You. How many around you know of your “There?” Not just where it’s located but why it’s beyond a dot on a map and a physical place of connection. The saddest part about having a relationship with a collection of trees are the rings they hold which we’ll never get to see until their passing. The heart tends to go silent during these winter months because everything in the forest is cold and bare. Any passerby would question my love for such a natural display of seasons passing. What happens to your “There?” Do you step in for a visit only on sun filled days with music playing gently? Have you reached deeper into the preservation of your “There?” The lay of my land connects with so many different layers of history. A couple of miles up the road are huge as a house or larger boulders. Native American’s lived there during the 1400’s. I can only assume they used to play in my “There.” The lake, stream, tall grass with hawks, deer, had a beaver once and so much more. Why so much talk about you sharing your “There?” We are the generation that relies too much on assumption. Rewriting our history. As I walked into this forest on Halloween night 2020 with a full Blue moon I knew it was time to leave a message behind. Hi my name is. This is my “There.” I hope you enjoy what’s been shared with me. Where is your “There?”

Stream Thinking The Power Of Now: Belief

Listen to "Steam Thinking Belief" on Spreaker. January 4, 2021 Stream Thinking: The Power of Now. The writing discipline is to gift yourself with ten minutes of wide open thought. One page. No editing. Then talk about what fell from the tip of your writing instrument. Today’s focus is belief. When what we believe creates separations in the heart. When how we believe widens the valley floor. When where we believe creates painstaking distance. When why we believe no longer matters. When who we believe makes the choice for us. Our minds are being run by enormous amounts of unfiltered content so incredibly addictive that every shape of belief has been tortured to the point of breaking. Be open, be honest and believe in your voice. The way we’re choosing to live shows no respect for each other’s points of direction. My father used to tell me, “Keep to yourself.” Meaning less of what I believe and more presence in listening. And in doing so what could or would be gained but an attention span that allows your thought process to expand. To create more room for what you personally believe. Having the ability to think for yourself and not endlessly be controlled by how you think. The masters of decision making lend more energy to you to further their ambitions to bear fruit while the rest of us are stuck eating cake. Then again. It’s what I believe. What do you believe? Here’s your opportunity to listen to yourself. But it must begin with my father’s stern words, “Keep to yourself.” Put listening first. I didn’t say put into play what you take. Hear it. Then respect the space. Which you’ve been living for nearly a year. We’ve all changed. The rules only seem the same. Knowing your inner strengths is the ability. Through the physical act of listening start locating what you believe. You’ll gain knowledge by way of what’s been experienced. When what we believe creates separations in the heart. When how we believe widens the valley floor. When where we believe creates painstaking distance. When why we believe no longer matters. When who we believe makes the choice for us. Be the one you believe in and make the right decisions. Winning is a choice. It’s what I believe. Now it’s your turn. What do you believe?
