Stream Thinking Using Your Voice

Listen to "Stream Thinking Using Your Words" on Spreaker. July 29, 2021 We all have a lot to say. How we use our words can lead us toward troubled waters. Mainly because most of those receiving don’t meet your presence with acceptance. Absolutely we live in the land of free speech and opportunity. We also live within the replenished soils that make up cancel culture. Comedians are having to change their live performances because of their words. A single person can say something about Batman and totally irritate the lovers of bats around the world. How dare anyone think this nighttime flying creation be connected to hunting down bad people. We are offended by such a connection. Ho hum. It’s part of that group of people who kill millions of spiders every day then use chemicals to fill the air because there are too many flying insects interrupting the moments that which make up the day. People and their words. Being heard isn’t what captures my attention. Silent introverts do! What are you thinking? Where are you planting your words? Quiet introverts are people watchers, planners and careful about stepping outward. But do they have a lot to say? This is why I practice stream writing seven days a week. One page. Ten minutes to write. No editing. Let it all out. Look at your words. Hear your voice without words being spoken. What did you learn about your point of direction? We all have something to say. How are you using your words? Musicians and songwriters get to hide behind fancy poetry. Politicians rely on shaming those who don’t believe while inciting fear so you will begin to follow. Preachers rely on the word. I’m a hidden speak writer. I say things that make people assume when in reality the interpretation was completely out of focus of the original idea. Getting to know your words opens the door for you to believe in the spirit of being heard.

Still Locked Up In Lockdown

Listen to "Still Locked Up In Lockdown" on Spreaker. July 23, 2021 They all run together! I’m not talking about the deer in my forest. The days of the week and the numbers they carry with them. A herd of days. Or would it be a gaggle of moments? I never hear anyone getting excited about it being Friday. Backyard BBQ’s are anytime and anyplace just bring your own brand of beer. The Covid lockdown erased the lines that separated the days of the week. I have to look at my Google calendar to remind myself that wow it really is a Friday! I feel like a Rock star that’s been on the road for a billion days. They have no clue where they are. Oh sure, slowing down might lift the daily lines. Why stop when getting ahead is the post Covid 19 adventure? I do and always have worked seven days a week. I blame this lifestyle on my parents. They pushed their lives into overdrive until they couldn’t do it any more in their mid-80s. My Grandfather helped build the infamous Bozeman tunnel that moves through the great Rocky Mountains. My father built our home in Billings, Montana. I didn’t get a single one of those genes. My fuel has always been spirituality and the winds that carry the stories. Part of living in the Now is doing it right Now. Setting things aside serves as a seed for another day and quite possibly a different decade. When people ask me about my age I tell them. Then it’s followed by, “I think.” The days. They all run together.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 255

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 255" on Spreaker. July 22, 2021 An odd shape of thought has fallen into my heart while making my way into the forest. So much of what I’m seeing is a memory. I’m a writer that claims to endlessly live in the present. It’s difficult on days like this. Being mindful of the present requires a reminder of how we got here. The flowering trees bring color and strong scent of spring. As hard as I’m trying to push away the heart must remain in the present. Lost in a memory. The white blossoms on the ancient apple tree. The budding leaves on the Leland Cyprus. I honestly can’t see beyond the memory. What does that say about hope and the future? Has life being put on hold due to the Covid lockdown changed my relationship with this forest? Being here is the moment. The quick chirps from the bright red Cardinal. The tiny yellow finches darting around. The Red Tail Hawk with its screeching. And back I go into a memory. Back to our first introduction. 1992. I knew something was moving through me. See what I mean! All I can do today is live off a memory. The choice should always be to be present in the everyday of new beginnings. Comedian/actor JB Smoove knows his place in the present. During his conversation with Howard Stern JB reminded the legendary broadcaster how important it is to protect your legacy. What you do right now is how you’re going to be remembered. If your choice is to be a jerk or to gamble your paycheck away, that’s how you are going to be seen. People don’t care about your past because present has the impact of where we are going tomorrow. How do you want to be seen? I was blessed to lead two 3.5 hour lectures yesterday. Those in attendance saw me as ________. What would they say about my new today? You have to pay attention! Know your moment of now. It’s the ink in the writing instrument designing what will become your legacy.

Robert Sykes U.S. Marine

Listen to "Robert Sykes A U.S. Marine" on Spreaker. July 16, 2021 Robert Sykes. A frequent visitor on my daily path. Until yesterday he was always as the aged man who downed two huge Red Bulls before shopping for groceries. I didn’t know his story. Not til fate put me next to him while manning the beer and wine bar at Harris Teeter. Robert Sykes wanted another glass of the house juice. He wanted to know where I was from, “You talk funny. People don’t sound like you.” I learned while choosing to listen that Robert Sykes had walked nearly the entire nation. Walked meaning he hitch hiked. That doesn’t always mean getting a ride. Nor does it always offer shelter. The worst storm he’s ever seen was in North Dakota. He had to take shelter under an overpass. Robert Sykes is a U.S. Marine. He wanted Air Force but felt he’d take whatever they’d give. 1968. His hero John Wayne would do it. So he needed to. Get over to Vietnam. In the moments he arrived, the platoon that which he was part of was ambushed. They lost six including their leader. Robert Sykes remembers every man that was part of his team, including the cities they were from. Robert Sykes found reason to chuckle about a helicopter that almost landed on him while trying to free an area under attack. Today, he finds solitude sitting in the far corner of a grocery store beer and wine bar. Slowly sipping on the juice. When it was time to go. I called Yellow Cab. I watched as he struggled to get into the vehicle. Not because of the wine. It was the effects of time. I thanked Mr. Sykes for his stories. He quickly returned, “There’s a lot of us out here that want to talk. We just can’t find the listeners.”

Finding Faith In Lucid Dreaming

Listen to "Finding Faith In Lucid Dreams" on Spreaker. July 15, 2021 Forcing yourself to wake up from a dream. The experts call it Lucid Dreaming. You’re very much aware of what you’re seeing and experiencing by way of being in a dream. I knew something was wrong with the dream I was having when a huge Rock star had passed away. I instantly woke up. I was like a two year old child arguing with his mother or father, “No! No! This isn’t true! Wake Up!” I’m completely fascinated with the way we can reconnect with something we’ve disconnected from. Sleeping. My entire life I’ve always believed the mind turns off our ability to listen. How do we miss so many late night thunderstorms? I don’t spend every night investigating what I dream. I just have this way of realizing when truth has been taken over by mental fake news. How then do we know our way back to reality? I ask this because through Nidra Meditation I’m able to do a lot of leveling. Meaning really really deep meditation where I think I’m back but I’m not. I’ve spent months and years studying this because it scares me. I read this morning that people who die in their dreams die. What? We’re not even going there! Leveling is a very spiritual cleansing way to meditate. It allows there to be tremendous amounts of mindfulness. Through careful studies I’m able to let go of a lot of walls which takes me very very deep. When you think you’ve returned and you haven’t experts call that a false awakening. When I find myself back in the moment of Now, the first thing I do is grab my meditation journal and write about the experience. I need to know for future reasons how the experience went. Here’s how I was able to free myself from Lucid Dreaming this morning. News had entered my sleeping self that Gene Simmons of KISS had passed away. It was not true. I remember questioning it in the dream. I refused to believe it mainly because I was mourning the loss of Paul McCartney. Wham! Awake! Oh look! It five o’clock. No alarm today. The dream woke me up. We’re all blessed with the ability to have Lucid Dreams. They just don’t teach it in school. There’s a huge chance that you are sleeping at night but not in the manner you think you should be. Lucid Dreaming keeps you from the deeper rest your body requires daily. Be aware of how you dream and why you dream. Keep notes so that you are educating your future self on how to act and react to what could be keeping you from feeling like you aren’t sleeping. I’m no expert. I just have years of handwritten notes.

What Do I Do With The Words

Listen to "What Do I Do With The Words" on Spreaker. July 14, 2021 And so it shall not become by way of how we wishfully think and act but rather it shall become when what you are called to become is given permission by your inner being to just be you... Words! They fall from the universe onto pages made of paper and or digital footprint. Words! What am I going to do with my words? I’m not the only one who thinks like this! What is Walter Finley going to do with his words? Brilliant songwriter! His words move away from him and through April Dawn. How does he relinquish his words so easily? I’ve been haunted by the awareness of my words after the transformation. What’s going to happen to them? I still have fond memories of going through my grandmother’s home after her leap outwardly. But I’ve never come across a family members words. My wife’s mother always wrote her poetry to which she still has today. I love holding onto those pages. To study the curve of the words and how each thought made a strong connection. She was Twitter speaking before it became cool! Because I’m such a word freak, I still have my spelling book from the first grade. The way that six year old was just learning how to turn words into sentences amazes the inner core of my creative beliefs. But what’s going to happen to that book of words? What about the novel I wrote in the 11th grade? Halloween 78 sits in a very very very protected place because it was written in pencil. No light is allowed to touch it. My wife has asked me to have my journals cremated with me. Call me anything but conceited please. No! If you’ve read any of my posts since the beginning of the internet, my words have always been directed toward you. I know what it was like to be a writer that didn’t have writing friends and or any other type of inspiration. I couldn’t shut off the words. I sat alone in my bedroom writing songs and poetry because oh what the hell it works for Gene Simmons. Somewhere beyond this page is another writer trying to find his or her way. A writer hider is what I’ve called them. Because I too was one of them. Quickly write then quickly hide. Then the journey away from the secret world turned me into a Hidden speaker. Using different words to hide from the right words. All the tricks. They’re in the books. Words! What happens when it happens? And so it shall not become by way of how we wishfully think and act but rather it shall become when what you are called to become is given permission by your inner being to just be you... My words shortly after prayer.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 254

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 254" on Spreaker. July 13, 2021 If all you had to do was to catch up with nature would you become part of the atmosphere or challenge the daily changes? No day passes that nature doesn’t invite us into its mind blowing presence. Look at how many people take the trees from the forest to build homes, backyard decks and boardwalks. From those masses how many replenish the soils with the strength of a tree? Look at your eyes in a bathroom mirror. Look at how much you take from the self you are. What are you doing to replenish the gift shared from the soul? We’re so quick to kill spiders and snakes only to complain about the enormous amount of insects and rodents. We catch fish while hunters take down deer, ducks and turkeys. I’m not sure how many of them are reinvesting in the product. If all you had to do was catch up with nature. Part of the celebration is accepting the fruit. Is that really what’s important? To be the dominant figure. Something that’s taken on a completely different identity over the past sixteen months is Covid 19. Looking at today’s numbers it appears to be changing by way of the vaccines. Only to keep reading about stronger variants. Sure there’s a conspiracy! Why would nature turn on us when everyday it proves its love by inviting us into its grand beauty? If all you had to do was to catch up with nature would you become part of the atmosphere or challenge the daily changes? The decision starts within the presence of your soil. What you plant in your heart and eyes always has the power to inspire or infect all that’s become your atmosphere.

Stream Thinking: They Are My Tools

Listen to "Stream Thinking They Are My Tools" on Spreaker. July 12, 2021 Stream thinking. Saying what’s on your mind right now. If it sucks. You’ll learn quickly how the reaction becomes a leadership role in your life. If it’s brilliant. Can you do it again without making it look like you’re trying? Stream thinking. It should be a daily exercise in your life. Ten minutes. One page. Write without editing. Just write! And I did 26 minutes before Sir Richard Branson blasted toward the edge of space. It all sounds like a B movie. Billionaires in Space! 26 minutes away from his launch felt like a lifetime. We should’ve learned how to respect time during the Covid lockdown. Time felt like it was standing around. It roamed in and out of our lives then suddenly it was 2021. Trust me, if you look at the headlines we haven’t budged an inch. Time keeps ticking and we are talking. About the same stuff day in and day out. Then you have Sir Richard Branson blasting into space. He put focus on the potential and not what fate decides to invite into the journey. Fate is time sitting around, “Oh you’re still here? I guess I should do something for you.” Working with time means being patient. I mean it took Sir Richard 17 years to have a very fast joy ride. It was up and quickly down. Don’t they have pills for this? Stream thinking. It’s ok to document a little history. Not for you. Your energy is supposed to be on the present. You write things down for future readers. My God! You lived through a pandemic. You have fallen witness to Space X with Elon Musk and now Sir Richard. For Luke Skywalker to grow a pair to take on Vader there needed to be a life before the moment. You're living it baby! Your place on the planet doesn’t belong to you. It’s for them! They need to know how they got there!

The Gift

Listen to "The Gift" on Spreaker. July 8, 2021 While meditating this morning these words fell into my cleared heart, “Money isn’t going to fix this situation. The value of love will be what heals the broken.” Each of us, in our own way, have money we’re throwing away. We’ve been challenged to believe that those who receive are released. Basically meaning, we give with hopes of getting back. Look at how much money is burned up trying to win the Power Ball and Mega Millions lottery. I hear it every day, “I’ll take anything. Just let me win something. And when I do I’m gonna share it with you.” I smile knowing how winners really do work and it’s not always in blessed gifts coming back. Sure! You’ll hear of the occasional return but that’s not the way we should be giving. How many people do you know that will accept love over money? And in being there with open arms are you expecting something in return? Something has to refill the soul. Money isn’t going to fix this situation. The value of love will be what heals the broken. Who and what is broken? The receiver or the giver? Can both be patched up? Can the receiver fix the giver and can the giver replenish the receiver? Sadly the receiver keeps wanting to receive. Why should it be fixed if the giver is their fix? The same is true about the giver. It’s extremely easy to want something, anything in return. If that’s your walk then know just being there is enough. That’s the gift! Don’t give to expect a ray of light. Be in the moment. That’s the gift. Grow with it. Build upon it. Be present with your presence. You can’t be available to all people until you set yourself free from having to get something back. Presence wins.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 253

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 253" on Spreaker. July 7, 2021 Peace and protection. Drop the microphone I’m out of here! Peace and protection. On April 3, 2021 I scratched into the surface of the journal the experience of waking up to a 29 degree morning blessed with bright white apple blossom leaves on the aging tree. A collection of leaves and limbs that I predicted wouldn’t make it through another winter. While standing beside the tree I asked myself, “Do I hold enough life to watch another seedling grow into a beautiful tree?” It’s because of this old apple tree that I was inspired in 1997 to plant 1,700 white pine, elm, oak and others across this lay of land. Replenishing the soil that the human chosen to build housing on. The land was starving for a little love. If you could see the amazing amount of life that appears each new morning today. All because of two words. Peace and protection. I not only live it. I activate it. Where is your peace and what are you trying to protect? If it’s yourself I’m all in! Peace and protection. Knowing that the cause will always grow into an effect. I’ve learned a lot from this collection of trees. The messages reach way beyond me. But to attain the strength to protect while still remaining in a place of peace requires mindfulness. The awareness of what is and isn’t present. I truly get it when people admit to me how important it is to remain in their past. I spend a lot of time with dreamers wanting their future to be present today. I get it. I don’t judge it. Peace and protection. Both are bathed in layers of excess and the daily goal is to maintain the perfect mental diet. Identify what requires your peace and protection. Wait! Suddenly it’s no longer about you. You mean, the peace and protection has to be offered to all who come around you? If your outside world is locked in on unrest how do you expect to walk with peace and protection? Plant those seeds and live by the lay of the land. In time you’ll be a blossom providing amazing fruit.

Stream Thinking Bending

Listen to "Stream Thinking Bending" on Spreaker. July 6, 2021 I’m amazed at how plants redesign their shapes in the way of gaining access to light. A plant is constantly reaching. I have trees in my forest that have grown around other trees just for a sip of that universal energy. Vines that climb. A palm that is brought indoors during the winter months because of the cold. I find great enjoyment in watching how it will always lean to locate more sunlight. How does that human play into this? How much bending are we doing during this digital generation? Is it for the better? Not if we’re talking about spelling, math and locating a business on a map. Technology has made us lazy. I remember when we couldn’t use a calculator in school. The teacher wanted us to exercise our minds so that we truly understood how we came up with the answer. I’d love to be a fly on the wall inside a decision maker’s office. To watch them handwrite a thought without the aid of spell check or some grammar app. I’m a daily writer. I have a dictionary with me every morning. I don’t want a future reader to look at this mess of thoughts and think, “The freak couldn’t spell!” How are we bending post Covid 19 versus facing the new variants? One look at how we came together on July 4th says it’s all or nothing straight ahead! Our current jobs and or careers. Multiple businesses are calling their employees back to the office. I know what it’s like working with people who never left. The new age attitude of, “When this doesn’t work out I’ll go get another.” See! That’s bending. Bending without thinking about how other employees are infected by a decision to not come to work. Gonna stay home and play. Cuz that’s what we did in 2020! Did a little bit of work then off we’d go! Not everybody. Let me make that clear. I know this because working from home turned me into even a bigger work-a-holic. I’d stay in the studio until 9 at night. Because it was so readily available. How are we bending? Are you taking notes? Should you be? How lazy are you when it comes to spelling? Challenge yourself off the computer to be a greater you all the way around. Bend with it.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 252

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 252" on Spreaker. July 1, 2021 This forest in south Charlotte, NC. Two days of hardcore rain. It looks like a wet dog that wants to quickly run into my home and roll all over the floor. The creek has risen, the soil extremely loose. How can something so tall such as a tree keep its firm grip on the only area it was given at birth? The human could never do something like this. More than a year into this Covid mess and people are running around like chickens with their heads cut off. By the millions we are convinced life has returned to normal. As a silent wolf. A watcher of human growth and habit. A daily writer that’s very observant of the surroundings. The trees in the forest during two days of rain remind me of the human being. What I’ve not spoken of are the missing leaves. The trees are present. The leaves are not. The human is right here. But something is missing. The valuable gifts or blessings that help bring food to the roots of life. We are leafless. Look around you. Mind and body. Looks normal right? The soul hasn’t shown up yet. The enormous hit we took in March of 2020 and in all things we are doing in this new normal the missing part of the story is the deeper truth. The art of readjusting. The physical presence of gaining personal access to opportunity not to allow others to feed us. States had to create new rules to get people back to work. Once back, the open wound is a lack of ambition or connection to whom is the receiver of the product. This moment in history has earned the name The Great Resignation! Spiritually speaking the leaves on our trees aren’t budding. We aren’t allowing human nature to take our dreams and giving them permission to blossom. Why? Because for 17 months everything was handed to us. When the leaves on a tree sit bare the next step is to cut them down. The new normal isn’t a hand me down or hand out. It’s knowing how you survived a pandemic where the entire planet was forced to shut off. Use that change and challenge as the energy to put leaves back on your limbs. It’s time to start collecting rain to feed your rooting system. Stop letting others support you. Grow forward. Grow outward. Own your now. There’s never been a better time to be seen as well as heard.
