Chris Difford From Squeeze
Listen to "Chris Difford Talks About The Squeeze Songbook Tour" on Spreaker.
After a nearly sold-out 2019 USA tour, Squeeze returns by public demand to continue “The Squeeze Songbook” tour. The UK legends will play their extensive list of hits including “Tempted”, “Black Coffee in Bed”, “Cool for Cats” , “Hourglass” and “Pulling Mussels From The Shell” as well as rare, lesser-known gems from their back catalogue. Tickets are on sale now. For more information, visit http://www.squeezeofficial.com/shows/.
“I can’t wait to be on tour with Hall and Oates,” says Chris Difford. “i have been a fan for many years and they have so many hits that i love. Our own shows are going to be very special too, as we have a long and treasured songbook ourselves.”
With previous shows at Coachella, KAABOO Del Mar and the Bourbon and Beyond festivals, two critically-acclaimed albums in the last four years, numerous headlining appearances at festivals and sold-out solo shows, “something of a renaissance” seems like an understatement. Squeeze will bring their scintillating live performances to the USA with a mix of not only the hits, but also rarities that span their 45-year career.
Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford have been compared to Lennon and McCartney since “Take Me I’m Yours”, their first release in 1978, blasted the band into the forefront of the UK music scene. The legendary duo have since written all of their hits as well as recorded 15 studio albums, 14 compilation albums, four live albums, one extended play and 48 singles. They are two of the most prolific songwriters of their time with each amassing a wealth of melody-rich earworms over the past four decades as both Squeeze and solo artists.
They have also received an Ivor Novello award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music, the Nordoff-Robbins Icon Award and the Mojo Icon Award.
“The Squeeze Songbook” tour will capture the works of two of the most talented songsmiths working today.
