Captain Dave Marciano
Listen to "Captain Dave Marciano From Wicked Tuna On National Geographic" on Spreaker.
Filmed on location in Gloucester, Massachusetts, and the surrounding waters, Wicked Tuna follows a group of salty fishermen from the nation’s oldest seaport as they make their living the way it’s been done for centuries — rod and reel fishing, one catch at a time — all in pursuit of the bluefin tuna. The series gives viewers an in-depth look at the intense battles, fierce competition, crushing losses and major paydays of the country’s toughest captains.
Wicked Tuna’s ninth season finds the captains feeling the pressure after the government quota is reduced to one bluefin per day. And the pressure to catch increases tenfold when three talented outsiders show up ready to compete against the veterans and take over the leaderboard.
Captain Bob Cook of the Fat Tuna knows that to be the best you have to beat the best, and he’s got his sights set on defending champion Captain Dave Carraro of the FV-Tuna.com. Carraro has long been considered one of the most formidable fishermen in the fleet, but he may have met his match in Cook, a fierce competitor who will do whatever it takes to bring down the black boat.
Meanwhile, Captain Sam Law of the Kraken is focused on besting Captain Tyler McLaughlin of the Pinwheel. Law has a long, contentious history with McLaughlin, having fished against him in the same waters his whole life.
And Captain Zack Plante of the Wasabi has traveled from his home port of Saco, Maine to fish against the best in Gloucester. Young, brash, and competitive, Plante resents fishermen like Captain T.J. Ott of the Hot Tuna, who Plante believes didn’t have to work for success. But Ott doesn’t plan to leave anything on the table this year – often languishing in the middle of the pack, he is determined to make this his best season ever and finally finish on top.
Rounding out the fleet are fan favorites Captain Dave Marciano of the Falcon and Captain Paul Hebert of the Wicked Pissah, who are both determined not to let the new captains interfere with their chances of success.
