Janice Robinson
Listen to "Janice Robinson From X Factor" on Spreaker.
Robinson has over 30 years of industry experience, performing across the world, working with GRAMMY®-winning producers, and writing songs for some of the biggest names in music. She was first discovered in 1987 by legendary producer Niles Rogers and entertainer Carole Davis, and worked as a choreographer for Davis throughout the late ‘80s. Since that time, Robinson has established herself as a Euro-dance superstar on the strength of international hits such as “Dreamer,” “House Anthem,” and “There Must Be Love,” among many others. She has earned the reputation of “the writer with the honest pen,” crafting some of pop’s most inspirational tunes for an extensive roster of artists that includes Tevin Campbell, Taylor Dayne, Kristine W., Deborah Cox, V-Factory, Ashley Tisdale, and American Idol finalists Frenchie Davis and Ada Vox, as well as eight Pop Idol winners. She released an album in 1999 “The Color Within Me,” and is working on a second titled “I Am My Father’s Daughter” with producer Mark Batson, which will accompany her first book called “God Will Never Leave Me.” In August, she concluded her first-ever residency, headlining at GIBO—Italy’s #1 luxury club.
Robinson was encouraged to try out for The X Factor UK by her oldest daughter, Kura, who had just undergone brain surgery following her diagnosis of Pseudotumor Cerebri in May of 2018—leaving her legally blind. When she’s not rocking audiences across the world on stage, Robinson spends her time taking care of her two children and working as a substitute teacher.
Season 15 of The X Factor UK premiered on Sunday, September 2 on AXS TV —marking the fifth consecutive year that the network has served as the series’ exclusive American broadcasting home. Episodes air at 8pE/5pP on Sundays and Mondays, 24 hours after the original UK broadcasts, with encore airings directly following the stateside premieres.
