Billy Gilman

Listen to "Billy Gilman From NBCs The Voice" on Spreaker. At the age of 12, Billy released his first country album, “One Voice,” with Sony Records. The title track earned Billy a Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Country Vocal Performance and was on the Billboard Country Top 40 for seven weeks. Billy became the youngest artist to ever have a Top 40 hit and a 2x platinum album. As Billy grew up and his voice changed, he was eventually dropped from his record deal. In 2014, a reporter found out that Billy was gay and threatened to out him, so Billy posted a YouTube video opening up to his fans as a gay man. Since coming out and choosing a career focused on pop music instead, Billy finally feels like his true self.
