The Spirit Of Release
Listen to "The Spirit Of Release" on Spreaker.

To put words on a page requires a physical act of trust. To believe in the spirit of expression. To allow the art of self to have enough air to breathe. The best part about being a writer is the process of release. You can feel it leaving you like water flowing through a stream. Drop the microphone I’m out of here. Seriously, I don’t understand why people don’t write. Does that make me bias? We spend hours texting, posting on social media and hitting fast forward on the remote control. To put words on a page requires just as much energy as having a verbal conversation. The flow of thought feels best when it’s being released. Daily writing raises my blood pressure. My doctor agrees. He laughed about it and calmly asked for me to not write before visiting. The emotion required to push ink into a page is a disciplined strength that’s called upon just to release a thought. I often wonder about the Tom Clancy’s of the world. What do they mentally go through to bring their paragraphs forward? What does it take to create a thought that will reach beyond the page? Will we come back one day and vibrantly question the moment, “What was I thinking?” The essence of being present is a choice based on the acceptance of what is now. You have to define the system of existence. Remind your creative spirit that you are here. Let it have the energy and fuel of trust and faith to evolve into a series of steps moving forward. Now document it. Put words on a page. Make it a physical act of trust knowing that the best part about writing is releasing it.
