Forgetting All About It
Listen to "Forgetting All About It" on Spreaker.

This is probably gonna gonna come across like I’m walking on someone’s lawn. Isn’t that how most of us feel about every opportunity we’re given something to say? We’ve become the generation that whispers out a personal point of view. As if to not let anyone else hear your heart. Being present in a mask-less society. Did you know maskless isn’t a word. If you could see my computer page that bright red squiggly line is screaming at me. Maskless! I’m two days deep into a new normal maskless walk. I’m finding it to be a little difficult. I’m one of those that believed they were protected. I’ve been vaccinated for two months and finally found it in my heart to stop wearing the mask because I felt having it on promoted a different message, “I’m the 63% of those who still haven’t received the shot.” But because I am vaccinated I took off the black cloth. Is this how I felt when the world took me away from my mother’s womb? Seriously, why in God’s name did I want to leave that nice warm place? I was being fed, there was no government, no poverty, no war and bad music.” How about that first baby step though, “Look at me! I’m free! I can climb all over the steps and sofa! I’m gonna get into everything!” Being without that mask means I had to get on Monster, Indeed and Hire Me Please. Yeah I’m searching for a booger buddy. See, with the mask those boogers were of no concern. With the mask on you couldn’t catch me yawning. With the mask having a seed caught in my teeth was no embarrassing moment! How did the members of KISS feel when they finally took their paint off? Think about it. They ended up putting it back on. I will tell you though, Paul Stanley without his paint today has created one of the greatest bands outside of KISS. Without that mask we’ve been introduced to the artist within him. The group Soul Station is a reflection of Paul’s inspirations. What he’s doing with his vocals couldn’t have been performed while wearing the mask. So I turn to you. Without your mask. How will your artist self grow? Too soon? Don’t sit around with a wait and see attitude. The world’s gonna pass you. Living in the shadows of a doer is like wearing a mask.
