Greg Warren

Listen to "Greg Warren Stars In The Comedy Special Where The Field Corn Grows" on Spreaker. Known for his appearances on Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Late Show, Comedy Central Presents, Premium Blend (Comedy Central), Last Comic Standing (NBC) and Dry Bar Comedy, among many others, Greg is smart enough to understand what he doesn't know, and it's in his common-sense attempt to understand basic agriculture, home repair, or finances that he harvests the ridiculous and absurd. While he may poke fun at farmers, he does it from a place of self-admitted ignorance, rather than coastal condescension. Whether the subject is his own suburban shortcomings, or a playful dig at blue-collar conventions, Greg is a man of the people without pandering. He spreads the funny like seeds that may root in the heartland, but are destined to grow far and wide. View the trailer from the special HERE.

Take Down Your Fence

Listen to "Take Down Your Fence" on Spreaker. July 16, 2020 I love words. To listen to others share them. To watch others react or completely ignore them. Words instantly grab my attention. I don’t listen to the radio or a podcast without physically making myself present in what’s being shared. They’ve got the confidence to share their words. Words that may inform, help soothe your anxiety, words that empower or even take away. Words! On this podcast episode, a moment of conversation about chickens that find it difficult to remain behind a fence. Growing up in Montana chickens were my life. I not only fed them but I sat in that hen house for hours watching them communicate, clean up the messing floor, dance around like kids or sit on a nest hoping to pop out what the human would steal. Our hen house was huge and so was the lay of land they were able to explore daily. Somewhat free range chickens. They had a huge area to roam but it was protected by four walls and a ceiling of chicken wire. Nothing got in and nothing could get out. That fence was there to protect their innocent little minds. Here in 2020 chickens get to run free. A city neighbor up the street has chickens and they keep getting out of his yard. My good friend Angela wrote to me the other day sadly expressing how she’s getting tire of burying her chickens because another animal got to them. She too allows them to be out in the wild. Fences. That was the word I heard my wife say today. Fences. It stood out so loud. And into my daily writing I went with the question, “Shall we put up a wooden fence? Would it have a knot hole so the passerby’s can look in? A fence has no reason other than to point out how much is yours and the rest can be evenly divided.” We put fences around ourselves every day. We’ve convinced our hearts that we are protected. Oh? Are you keeping people out or keeping people in? I’m endlessly introduced to people who claim they have writers block. They can’t create today because they aren’t in the mood. No they won’t explore new ideas and opportunities. Yeah ok. You’ve put a fence around you. Writers block doesn’t exist. It’s your perfectionist self telling the rest of you that no matter how many times you try everything sucks. You’ve built a fence. This Covid-19 journey is an opportunity for you to explore newer levels of yourself. In the beginning we were gung ho on the idea that there was now enough time to make a difference elsewhere. When instant success didn’t plop the bucks into the wallet, up went the fence. Take it down. It’s not who you are. People that use the excuse of being an introvert should be fence builders for Lowes or Home Depot. You think you’re protected on your side of the fence. Always remember one thing. Those of us on this side of your fence can hear everything you’re complaining about on your side. Loud and clear, “Life sucks. People hate me. I have no dreams. Where’s my day of victory?” Take down the fence. Your first step of a brand new beginning is waiting for your energy.

How Are You Going To Live It

Listen to "How Are You Going To Live It" on Spreaker. July 15, 2020 I’m amazed at the number of people that share with me their tragic wake up stories. Dreams from the night before becoming weight in the opening steps of a sun on the rise to feeling clogged up with too many news headlines. So often we look and feel like a badly beaten up weather torn wooden wagon from the 1800’s pushing itself westward to Oregon. On this podcast episode we travel into that area of our subconscious that nobody wants to talk about. We’re too busy trying to look strong. We’ve got this! No pandemic is gonna rip this life to shreds! I shared an incredible conversation with author Margaret Riley Thomson yesterday. While comparing Covid-19 to the Aids epidemic of the 1980’s, she stopped the talk and pointed toward an unspoken different pandemic. Suicide. The numbers are through the roof. Whoa! You didn’t sign up for this talk! I get it. But each of us, on different days, experience shadows entering our hearts. It generates distance. No matter how hard you try to unmask your daily march forward, assumption clogs the head. It’s excess weight for an already heavy moment in your life. Something completely invisible has put a thumbprint on your presence of Now. We don’t want to patiently wait for answers. We require this to be over right here right now. It begins with conversation not confrontation. To speak with not to be spoken to. To be present in all things made available through the physical act of being aware. I’m a daily writer because I know that when words are placed on a page they are being heard. Therefore I’m also a listener. In all things that we do daily your first step should be to always make the attempt. Don’t sit around thinking about doing something. Make the attempt. Put forward motion into your moment. There must always remain a process. It helps you deal with the shadows caused by bad dreams, worry, doubt, guilt and shame. Tell those shadows to walk with you. If you’re gonna hang out with me and make my day bad, get up shadow and participate with the journey. We aren’t gonna sit around and feel like that ugly looking covered wagon from the 1800’s. Create with me shadow! Let’s help others shadow! Cranking up my Classic Rock with the shadow! Your new morning is your first daily gift. Your gift. My gift. We all get the gift. Now the question is… How are you going to live it?
