In all things real the very second I arrived I felt my father did as well. For three years it's become our place of walking and just talking. I texted my preacher friend. Told him that I was going to start laying low on sharing how God moves through me. His replied, "Will you be happy?" I instantly told myself, "I don't want to find out." Does that make me weak or stronger because a step in either direction means confrontation. To stop talking about Christ is censuring myself from what's truly taking place. To mention I wouldn't be happy if I stopped forces the soul to ask more questions fed by rivers of doubt, shame and guilt. These are supposed to be the greatest times. There are more jobs then there are people! Can being a religious person keep you from being hired? Do employers feel if a person is public with their Holy Spirit beliefs it may put the company in a position of having to protect those who live life differently? Same goes with companies where every day begins with prayer. Do they read the notes posted and decide on the spot that a possible employee's studies aren't in tune with their way of raising hope and faith? Would you be happy if you laid back and spent less time showcasing positive experiences? I don't want to find out. I once applied for a radio job at a Christian station in Columbia, SC. They wouldn't return my calls. Not until I wrote a letter that asked which church they attend so I can become part of their circle of belief. I got the interview only to have the sales manager, program director and GM grill me at lunch about how I serve God. That's not the bad news. That came when we all had to get back in the same car and return to the radio station. It was a very quiet journey. Radio isn't the only worship driven business that puts God's plan first. If I got the interview would the end results be the same? I don't want to find out.

What Is The Price

Really? What was the price to attain such a place? What's the price to maintain it day to day? Lets break down the word rich. We're all rich with something. Some are rich with talent on a sports field or inside a banking community. Many are rich with family traditions and savoring family recipes. We're rich with great roads and hordes of traffic. Rich with our love for nature or building new areas to explore. We all have rich people problems. Knowing this helps you layout each step of how you're able to pay the price. Everything comes with expectation and the payoff on the end has to be something you've chosen to give up. I love radio so much that it took me 40 years of on the air deliveries to realize how much I forgot about my original family. I was reminded of it this last time while standing in a room with my brother in law. He asked me why it took me 13 years to come home. I opened my heart and said, "I've been chasing a dream." He quickly asked "Did you catch anything?" In that moment my heart whispered "No." I'm not going to get my Dad or brother back. That's the price I had to pay. Rich with the passion to perform radio. But it came with a cost. We all face our pitfalls and stumbles but rarely do we learn from the bread crumbs laid lightly on the soils of life. Awareness of how your body reacts to each emotion is no different then seeing a cloud take shape in the sky. Does it make you an introvert to be so keen to your senses? No. It actually works the opposite way. Your focused atmosphere on keeping level is a gift to those nearest your touch. The next time your boss torches your path with too much expectation think about the existence of an existent now. The situation is right there in front of you. Deal with it. The moment you tuck it away for later play is reason to feel off balance the rest of the day. Do bosses change their ways and minds after the command has been delivered? No. Now you hold a lesson to one day teach when you've been chosen to lead. Which totally shoves my thought pattern into a future we can't control because the average person doesn't want to be a decision maker. Therefore the existence of an existent now shape shifts back into a gloomy environment of no reason to keep reaching forward. No. You're now aware of how you act and react and it gives you light when in the past you pointed your finger at other things for those roughed up feathers. Being aware of where you presently stand is a very positive tool on your journey into the arms of brilliant success.
