Ryan Jay Reviews
Listen to "Just Another Day With Ryan Jay Episode 100220" on Spreaker.
Three movies make their way to us this weekend. All on different formats. Ryan Jay reviews Save Yourselves. A quirky vibe that unexpectedly goes Sci-fi. Its in theaters but Ryan says hold off until it hits On Demand. Speaking of that, Eternal Beauty is ready for you to tap into. You might automatically think this is a comedy and should know that its far from it. According to Ryan you will laugh but its because its so painful and it puts viewers in uncomfortable situations. That means two swings and a miss. The Boys In The Band on Netflix is a different story. You'll not only love it but talk about it all weekend on social media.
Where Do We Begin

What if we shut our eyes and wishfully thought? What if we located a way to turn it off? Where do we begin when what we’ve been given is shocking news three steps into the birth of a new day? This is a pretty serious podcast episode. We’ve moved from an “Oh Wow” moment during a pandemic to simply asking, “Where do we begin?” No matter what team you’re batting for, any and all times, there can’t be a division when the bright lights of strength face the possibility of dimming. Where do we begin? The judgement must be replaced by physical and meaningful compassion and empathy. No more sharp accusations of distrust and hatefulness. The beginning must start with uniting. Coming together to face the fires of a known storm so often set aside because in the moments of the walk it was always on someone else’s hill. We must begin by accepting. By being accountable and available for what could be a new age of unheard of change. The beginning should and will include all sides of the experience and opinion and in the name of the Greater Creator and under his or her universe we must make a choice to be in a place of authentic love and peace. Where do we begin? Forgiveness.

Ken Walker
Listen to "Ken Walker From The Film Big Fur" on Spreaker.
Ken Walker is a World Champion taxidermist. Ken specializes in re-creating extinct and endangered species out of other animal's hides, like his famous saber-toothed tiger and giant panda. Wild animals are not the only way Ken can make a lifelike impression - he used to be a professional Roy Orbison impersonator. But these days, his "Pretty Woman" is eight feet tall and covered in fur - his re-creation of 'Patty', the female Bigfoot seen in a shaky 1967 "Bigfoot" movie.
BIG FUR documents Ken's meticulous Bigfoot re-creation from start to finish, where it is unveiled at the World Taxidermy Championships. While Kewould love to win 'Best in Show', his real hope is that putting Patty on display will prompt some hunter to open his freezer and pull out the proof that Bigfoot is real. Instead,it's Ken's love life that gets thawed out.
BIG FUR is a wry portrait of an eccentric artist-hero, with an unshakable belief that eventually he'll find true love. Or the hairy, 800-pound validation of his life's quest. It's also an insider's view of taxidermy as an under-appreciated art form. And finally, it's a call to preserve the last wilderness. Because when there is no mystery left in the deep, dark forest, we'll have lost more than Bigfoot.

Mike Meadows From Ditchwater
Listen to "Mike Meadows from Ditchwater Releases Never Say Never" on Spreaker.
Ditchwater has beeen a huge fixture in the Chicago music scene since 1993. Having endured all the changes in the music scene, they have weathered the storm and come out stronger each time. Always a band for the people, they have continued to build their brand of Heavy Rock and over the course of their career, released 6 independent albums. All completely on their own and without hardly any outside help or influence.
In April of 2018 guitarist Mark Anderson and vocalist Mike Meadows began writing a new album. Leaving behind all past influences and concentrating on creating something unique yet true to the Ditchwater sound. 10 new blistering tracks (including a faithful yet modern take on the Motörhead classic “Iron Fist”) mixing heavy grooves blending emotional melodies with dramatic harmonic passages. The result: a guitar and vocal driven slab of pure energy and ambition.
The title, “Never Say Never”, is the 7th album in the Ditchwater catalog proving that the band is sounding bigger and better than ever before. The new and improved Ditchwater caught the ears and eyes of Pavement Entertainment. After signing to Pavement in 2020, the days of independence and having to do everything themselves have quickly come to an end. With a powerful and world renown force behind them label wise, the 7th chapter of Ditchwater is sure to be the chapter for the rock and roll history books. The time has come…Never say die…Never say never!

October 1, 2020
So here we are! The 10th month! Are you more certain today then yesterday? We still have the ability to replenish the source of energy that gives you a greater sense of freedom? Nothing political. But rather internal. The freedom to be you. Without judgement. Without feeling like you’ve given your entire process of success away. To learn from this chapter in unexpected circumstances and layout the structure of finding yourself not only in the mirror but in the eyes of the image staring back at you from inside the mirror. On this podcast episode the goal is to identify the triggers. To step free of the unspoken truths about how you think and deliver. I started my daily writing today by asking a simple yet extremely heavy question, “Where do we begin?” Such a place in my heart might come off as an exhausted moment. Not so. It’s letting my mind body and soul know that no matter how cluttered things are in the realm of our present reality there’s enough room to continue dreaming on the inside core of who we are. I daily write through multiple storms. You’d think getting up at 4:30 every morning to put words on paper would be a huge negative. Not so. Sitting near my writing window overlooking a beautiful forest at 4:30 seems peace filled until you realize you can’t see the trees and the lay of the land shaped by a tiny creek. It’s not a negative because it teaches my creative self to trust that it’s there. To have faith that it will always walk beside me. The most difficult part of being a daily writer is the clock. It never stops moving and that tells my conscious mind that I too must make my way forward. Time management to me isn’t taken lightly. It’s a sharply tuned well defined discipline that’s required decades of practice. Being so strict with time has led to a lot of heartbreak. 98% of those around me find strength in always being late. Then I’m told to have compassion, empathy and be more forgiving. So being early makes me come across as being a jerk or a nervous artist. Let’s speak truth and honesty. Being on time means I’m buying time not chasing it. Getting my expectations of the day done before its due time allows me to find a moment to take another walk through the forest or jump into an event that isn’t scheduled for today. Working ahead buys me time. But! But! My rhythm isn’t always on schedule. I do have days when I get so far behind that it totally takes out my subconscious. That’s when I leap onto YouTube and check in with meditation music. It allows me to talk to myself. To gently remind the creative source of flow that being present is the greater gift. Don’t check out if time appears to be in a rough place. Keep the river flowing. I share this inside story with you by way of helping you clear the heart. You’re not getting anywhere when you say, “I have an open heart.” That ten pound bag of potatoes can’t hold fifteen. My pet peeve? The clock on the dashboard of my wife’s car is set fifteen minutes ahead of what the time truly is. As much as she feels like she’s running on time. When I’m driving I’m freaking out because I feel like the world is crashing. I’m late. How in God’s name did I waste so much time getting out of the neighborhood? Then she calmly reminds me of the true time. A total time freak! Which is on fire today. Wow. The 10th month of the year. It’s already here. Did you get anything done over the past nine? Or are you still waiting for fate and karma to catch up? Be nice to yourself by building a platform of growth based on keeping a firm grip on the presence of time.
