Kamie Crawford

Listen to "Kamie Crawford Returns From Catfish On MTV" on Spreaker. Based on the hit 2010 documentary film Catfish, MTV’s Catfish: The TV Show brings together couples who have interacted solely through computer screens, helping people find the answers they deserve. Now, Catfish: The TV Show returns with its first-ever virtual season, airing Wednesdays at 8pm ET/PT on MTV. While the world may still be socially distancing, people are online now more than ever looking for social connections and answers. Catfish hosts Nev Schulman and Kamie Crawford will go to the ends of the internet to find them. For the first time ever, Nev and Kamie work together remotely to do what they do best: track down the truth. This season, Nev and Kamie have their work cut out for them as they must play by new rules, encounter new obstacles and dive head first into the world’s ‘new normal’ to uncover lies and potentially find true love. Kamie Crawford is a TV Host, Content Producer, Model and Former Miss Teen USA with a love for all things beauty, fashion and pop culture. Kamie has always had a passion for investigative journalism and is now putting her own “FBI” skills to the test while working alongside Nev Schulman as co-host of Catfish: The TV Show. When she's not in front of the camera, Kamie is collaborating and creating social content with major beauty, fashion and lifestyle brands like Swarovski, Lancôme, Dove, Rent the Runway and so many others. Working as a model in a fashion world that deems anything over a size 4 as “plus sized” and in a digital space that often lacks inclusion has sparked Kamie to use her influence to spread the importance of body positivity and diversity in the digital sphere and beyond.

The Music In Our Dreams

Listen to "The Music In Our Dreams" on Spreaker. September 17, 2020 Those songs! The tunes we hear while dreaming. They play so vibrantly without skipping like an old fashioned CD. Those songs are endlessly playing and all we’re trying to do is get some sleep. I’m shocked that the music industry hasn’t figured out a way to monetize this connection we have with their beats and lyrics. I’m not talking about streaming on your smart phone or chumming up with your old iPod. Nope. Those songs that somehow someway make an appearance within the moving pictures displayed in your dreams. The experts say that music is a representation of emotion. How it arrives is based on each individual situation. Personally, I’ve always wanted to keep a list of what song was playing the night before. To do some research. To study the layout of words and or lyrics. But I always pull myself back. I don’t listen to song lyrics! It’s my radio weakness. I put up the block on song lyrics way back in the days of Michael Bolton being played 400 times every show. I had to create a mental break in the action so it wouldn’t come across that I was extremely tired of hearing When A Man Loves A Woman. But it doesn’t keep the music from playing late late at night. Is it really hooked up to emotion or is it quite possible that during these pressurized days and nights of Covid, the political elections, protests, forest fires and hurricanes that our minds are dumping. Creating room for more bad news. What’s something easy the system can toss out? I know! The music! The reason why any of this has been brought up is based on my wife waking up this morning talking about a Supertramp song playing in her thoughts last night. A deep cut that radio doesn’t play. I know she’s not watching YouTube videos and streaming isn’t going to touch it. How did the song from Supertramp get into her dreams? How do any of the songs get there? Should we be paying a royalty? I’d be glad to but under one condition. I need to be given the power to hit the next button. If I don’t want the Supertramp deep cut playing then give me permission to leap to the next then the next then the next. Damn! Now it’s time to get up for another workday. And if the experts are right about music being a representative of our emotions, I’d love to know the numbers of those hearing AC/DC and Godsmack. Hardcore Rock during a time when we’re trying to shut out this messy careless planet. The funny thing about that is how we don’t have a volume control. We can’t turn it down or off. Whoa… wait a second. What if while we’re sleeping we’re nothing more than a speaker on a wall or an earbud? A strange place we are in. Let’s go listen to some music!

Jump The Fall

Listen to "Steve Kilroy From Jump The Fall Releasing Ten Year Guilt Part 1l" on Spreaker. Vocalist Randy Bettencourt shares what Ten Year Guilt, Part 1 means to him. He says, "It really is a culmination of something that we started over 10 years ago. Personally, I knew that we had great chemistry together and things just clicked. Putting things back together and seeing things through was exciting and very satisfying." Jump The Fall took a 10-year hiatus, though the band never officially broke up and stayed active in the music scene with other bands. Drummer Steve Kilroy shares, "10 Year Guilt is the name of one of our songs but seemed appropriate. Around that time I had gotten the opportunity to tour with Tantric. Sadly, soon after that opportunity, people had family matters that forced us to disband, but every so often we would talk about possibly getting back into it." Kilroy adds, "The recordings were always my personal favorite tracks, and getting to remix and master them for a release was more than satisfying to me." As far as the recording process went, Bettencourt shares, "This EP has touched multiple studios in multiple cities, states and even countries! From Massachusetts, to the UK, to LA, Nashville, and a few other places in between. It took some time but we think we got it right." The EP was recorded and produced by Dave Eve, Anthony Resta, John Mailloux, and Paul Hager. Mastering was done at The Lodge.

Reaching For The Ocean

Listen to "Reaching For The Ocean" on Spreaker. September 16, 2020 I love being a daily writer. I get to put anything on paper without feeling the pressure of being judged until the thoughts are set free. Kids aren’t the only ones saying the darndest things. If we took more time to listen to those around us we’d be totally entertained and inspired. I laugh incredibly loud when standing inside circles of free form thinkers who aren’t afraid of failing with their words. It reminds me of that moment on the radio show when every break performed was the worst. I couldn’t put anything together without tripping. Then I started making fun of myself live on the radio. To help invite even more peace is when listeners would mention how much they enjoyed my flubs because it made me one of them. On this podcast episode the focus is on giving yourself permission to say the darndest things. Being a free form stream thinking poet that happens to write paragraphs of new thoughts and ideas, there are times when what I say flies so far over people’s heads that it makes me look like an idiot rather than a survivor. My teacher wife of 28 incredible years always tells me, “If you have to explain your thoughts then it wasn’t a good one.” I keep doing it. Because I love trying to explain it. A good example was what fell from the nib of the writing instrument this morning. Gaining access to an over active imagination addicted to keeping the paths locked on forward emotion. What? I know! Way the heck out there! Gaining access to an over active imagination addicted to keeping the paths locked on forward emotion. Here’s how I invite you to look deeper into the presence of the sentence. Water doesn’t become stale when set free to reach the sands of distant oceans. Too often we find the events of the moment to be the same as yesterday, the day before that and the month before that. The Covid-19 quarantine introduced us to the slowing down of personal growth and goals. The idea of getting back to 2019 Normal is nothing more than a flashback. Rather than push ourselves deeper into a year of unheard of change and challenge, the decision for many has been to sit here with our palms open. To be given something for just sitting here. Gaining access to an over active imagination addicted to keeping the paths locked on forward emotion. Becoming stale water. Children aren’t being held accountable for being lesser than what they once were. They aren’t getting 100% of their assignments in. Because it’s the new acceptable. I get it! Parents are exhausted. They weren’t designed with teacher patience and leadership skills that reach through a child’s desire and decision to not want to learn. I’m facing the same situation with my adult students who are physically in class with me! Very few people want to ignite a new age of personal growth and goals. Gaining access to an over active imagination addicted to keeping the paths locked on forward emotion. Sure, things are slowly reopening around the world. But nothing like a full river of potential success. The new acceptable is allowing ourselves to set things aside. I’m stressed. I’ve got anxiety. I’m not feeling it. I’ll have newer excuses tomorrow. We have a trickle in the stream that’s being blocked by dams created by beavers. The water is still going to get stale. There needs to be flow. We’ve got to stop being bystanders on the river’s edge. Gaining access to an over active imagination addicted to keeping the paths locked on forward emotion. Gain your access! Get back into that head and heart. Ok so your old job isn’t what it used to be or it’s still in lockdown mode. Locate the strength to put yourself in a new direction. Yes, you’ll probably make less money. I was in an interview yesterday. Totally different career. The big guy boss looked at me and said, “I really want to bring you onto my team. How much are you looking to make.” I did one of those prayers with your eyes wide open and let God move through me. My answer is a why people say the darndest thing moments. I replied, “We are in Covid-19. Your future customers will be no different than me. They’ll be searching for a job or making less money because the old job no longer exists. I want to be on equal grounds with them because I know through building new relationships the greater payoff isn’t today but in the years ahead.” Gaining access to an over active imagination addicted to keeping the paths locked on forward emotion. Take the step. If it feels like you’ve fallen off a cliff. Remember what happens in dreams. You wake up before you hit the ground. Trust your gut. Take the step.
