But one night that normal existence is turned completely upside down when Paul spots a colleague driving along a deserted road. Concerned and curious, he decides to follow Kenneth, catching him in a horrifying act – trying to dispose of two bodies. Nearly losing his life in the encounter, readers find Paul eight months later still battling PTSD, depression, and severe problems that keep him from work and that are creating tension with his wife, Charlotte. One of Paul’s only sources of comfort is his sessions with his psychologist, Anna, who specializes in trauma and disturbed patients. To cheer him up, Charlotte brings home a gift—a vintage typewriter, complete with ink ribbons and heavy round keys—to encourage him to start the novel he’s always wanted to write. With Anna’s support, Paul believes writing Paul swears he can hear it typing in the middle of the night. Yet only he can hear the noise coming from downstairs; Charlotte doesn’t hear a thing and she worries he’s going off the rails. As Paul digs deeper, he becomes convinced that the typewriter is somehow connected to the murders. But how? No longer sure what is real or what is in his mind, Paul starts to question everything and begins investigating the deaths himself. Controversial comedian Artie Lange is back with his shamelessly entertaining third memoir, Wanna Bet?: A Degenerate Gambler's Guide to Living on the Edge (St. Martin's Press; July 17, 2018). Lange surprised and delighted his fans when his memoir Too Fat to Fish became a #1 bestseller. Next, his bestselling follow up book Crash and Burn documented his recovery from addiction to drugs and alcohol. Artie was back. In his hilarious third book, the New York Times bestselling author, comedian, actor, and radio icon explains the philosophy that has kept his existence boredom-free since the age of 13. An avid sports better and card player, Lange believes that the best gambler's high is achieved when the stakes aren't monetary. In this candid and entertaining memoir, he looks back at the times he bet with the intangible and priceless things in life: his health, his career, and his relationships. In WANNA BET?, Lange shows readers the man who takes as much pleasure from betting on a coin toss as he does putting tens of thousands of dollars on obscure college basketball games with fellow problem gamblers like Norm McDonald. It's a subculture where bookies, mobsters, athletes, and celebrities ride the roller coaster of wins and losses, never content with a big win, never discouraged by a devastating loss. Improbably, Artie has come out ahead, though he imagines his life if that weren't the case. Unrepentant and unrestrained, the book is Lange at his finest. With his customary self-deprecating wit and sometimes brutal insight, Artie Lange revels in what may be his last bad habit in this hilarious memoir.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 118

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 118" on Spreaker. My most recent journey back home to Montana was more than a first time event in thirteen years. I found myself in positions of thought that weren't fed by reminiscing but rather understanding the construction of the platforms to which I presently stand. In all our pasts rest the original seeds of inspiration and influence. Not always a positive fuel for the history books. In today's world we're OK with that because we'll redesign the actuality of the experience on social media. Lets break it down even further. Many times throughout the day I'll take note of what's been described as a God Wink moment. Those incredible victories that come out of nowhere and oh my God I can't believe you're the one that gets to experience it. What if God Winks also include some of the worst moments of the chapters you write? The importance of the downfall isn't how you got back up but rather how you're keeping someone from making the same mistake. While in Montana I sat alone at Riverfront Park observing the beauty of how the Yellowstone River had cut into the soil a lay of land that still has the ability to generate energy in me today. This one small section. Maybe a mile wide has been the center point seed to multiple fields of harvest. But not in the God Wink way that most people celebrate. Three completely 100% negative moments that influenced how I share as well as teach even in today's lectures. The hillside where my bicycle flew over a cliff and I wasn't wearing a helmet. The river that sucked me under as a teenager and spit me out thousands of feet later. The highway where the group of very drunk teenagers nearly rolled their car. Extreme negatives right? That's without mentioning that my book Halloween 78 was completely written about this one particular area of Montana. Many of us have been in those moments. You're lucky to still be here today. God Wink. Now... How do you activate it? Each of our lives are layered with horrid moments and bad decisions. What if we stopped making it added weight and physically looked at it as being a purpose and part of a bigger plan?
