Peter Marshall

Listen to "Peter Marshall Wait For Your Laugh" on Spreaker. "Wait For Your Laugh" with Dick Van Dyke, Carol Reiner, Tim Conway, Peter Marshall, and of course Rose Marie (who was a regular on Hollywood Squares with host & friend Peter Marshall), just had its world premiere on opening night of the film Mill Valley Film Festival, before heading to New York and Los Angeles in Nov (listed below). These screenings will qualify the film for Academy Award consideration under "Best Documentary." Iconic and legendary producer, writer and actor, Carl Reiner, couldnt contain his enthusiasm saying at private cast and crew screening, "This is no bulls**t ... This is the finest documentary about anybody I have ever ... ever seen. And why is the best documentary, because it about someone who deserved to have the best documentary made. I'm immediately saying 'Where do we vote?!' Because this has to win every award it ever goes after. I salute you Rosie!" Too much praise cannot be lavished on the efforts of director Jason Wise and his team. Among the many surprises contained in this cinematic gem are never-before-seen home movies taken behind the scenes by Miss Marie or her husband, Bobby Guy, with the cast members of The Dick Van Dyke Show and The Doris Day Show, as well as on the road with the cultural phenomenon called "4 Girls 4." This is the untold story of fame, love, tragedy & 90+ years of American entertainment through the eyes of one woman who witnessed it first hand. "Rose Marie was a child star before Shirley Temple was even born," remarks friend and industry pioneer, Peter Marshall, adding "...and she has done it all." From starring in the first all talking short film released in theaters to opening the Flamingo Hotel in Vegas ... and the mob affiliations that went along with it, including referring to criminal mastermind, Al Capone as "Uncle Al." Indeed, while it is true that Miss Rose Marie has done and starred in everything from Vaudeville to Broadway and Las Vegas, as well as Radio, Cabaret, feature film, and television ... both Primetime and Daytime ... "Wait For Your Laugh" is ultimately a true love story. Despite unimaginable obstacles, finding a soul mate and ... "surviving the greatest loss someone can experience," says Dick Van Dyke.

Mick Rock

Listen to "Mick Rock 45th Anniversary Of Transformer" on Spreaker. Genesis is delighted to bring this book to readers once more. This new re-launch of Transformer celebrates the 45th anniversary of the album, and comes with a new booklet containing 50 unseen photos of Lou Reed, as well as a loose leaf handwritten lyric sheet reproduced in facsimile.   Forty-five years ago, Transformer launched Lou Reed from the underground, way up to Mars, with a little help from Starman Bowie. Mick Rock was there to capture Reed's flight on film, beginning with the iconic album cover and continuing through the wild side of the Seventies.   Mick Rock: 'I'm happy our relationship weathered the outrageous antics of the past 40 years, enabling us to come together to produce such a beautiful tome.'    Lou Reed: ‘When I saw the book, I was just overwhelmed by how beautiful it is. It brought back all that energy and all that virility, captured over that period of time. The book is like an energy bomb. And it’s beautiful.’   Charting the transformations of Lou Reed from 1972 to 1980, Transformer presents never-before-seen imagery of Lou Reed by photographer Mick Rock. This book captures Lou in the studio, performing onstage, in his hotel room, and with friends including David Bowie, Nico, Mick Jagger, Iggy Pop and Andy Warhol.   Lou and Mick discussed the photographs and their friendship in a completely original, no-holds-barred dialogue. Lou Reed told the truth behind the sartorial gestures, innovative stage set-ups, subversive acts and legendary albums that made him one of the most intriguing artists in modern music.   Their collaboration is showcased in a 11.5" x 15.5" large format volume, traditionally craftsman-bound by hand. Lou and Mick's Transformer image is recreated on the cover, with a variety of foil detailing and gilt page edging. The book is presented in a slipcase and will include an exclusive 7” picture disc of the Lou Reed classics ‘Walk On The Wild Side’ and ‘Coney Island Baby’, as well as a commemorative booklet, new for 2017, containing 50 more rare photos, and a facsimile lyric sheet.   Lou’s originality and creativity has inspired one of the most iconic volumes that Genesis has ever made. Each of the 2,000 numbered copies in the limited edition has been signed by both Mick Rock and stamped by the Lou Reed estate.

98 Degrees

Listen to "98 Degrees Let It Snow" on Spreaker. The quartet will release their first full-length album in 4 years, Let It Snow, via UMe. Recorded this past July in Los Angeles, the album features the group's signature R&B-tinged, four-part harmonies. Let It Snow is their second Christmas title, their critically-acclaimed This Christmas was a million-selling, multi-platinum album in 1999. "As a group, our favorite record, hands down, is [This Christmas]," says Drew. "We're proud of the music, the harmonies, the production. It's a Christmas record that every year people can put on and enjoy." Explains Timmons: "We have primarily a female audience, but we'll have guys come up to us and say, 'You know what? I love the Christmas album; my mom bought it for me.' It's bro code that the Christmas album's allowed," Timmons jokingly added. Plus, "it's a special year for us - it's the 20th anniversary of our first release on Motown Records," says Nick. "So, it just seemed like the perfect moment to revisit that and do a Volume Two." The guys recruited Grammy-nominated music, TV and film producer Adam Anders to oversee the project. Perhaps best known for his work as executive music producer for Glee, Anders has written and recorded with some of the biggest names in contemporary pop music, from Miley Cyrus and Selena Gomez to Backstreet Boys and the Jonas Brothers. Along with beloved standards like "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas," "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!", and "Please Come Home For Christmas," the 12-song collection includes their take on "What Christmas Means To Me," written by Allen Story, Anna Gordy Gaye, George Gordy and is the standard that was popularized by Wonder. "[Recording 'True To Your Heart'] with Stevie very early in our career was a signature moment in terms of establishing us as a group," says Nick. In addition to "Superstition" being a 98° concert staple, "I've had the chance to do a bunch of Stevie stuff over the years: performing "For Once In My Life" with Babyface on a variety show back in the day, as well as "That's What Christmas Means to Me" on a finale of The Sing-Off. It was a no-brainer to include that on this Christmas record." Drew, meanwhile, "was kind of adamant" about including "Little Saint Nick," the cheery 1963 Beach Boys bop. "You don't hear a ton of people covering that one. It's an up-tempo song, it's fun, and it allows us to show off our harmonies." As for Timmons, he was the most thrilled about having 98° put their own spin on the classic carols "O Little Town of Bethlehem," "The First Noel" and "What Child is This?" "Those are my favorite selections with regard to our group, our voices," he says. "We nailed the arrangements on those songs! To hear Nick's voice on "What Child is This". Whoa! I'm a big fan of his." While Timmons describes himself as "that cheesy guy who gets into the holiday spirit no matter what," Jeffre chose Joni Mitchell's melancholic ode to winter, "River." "Not everyone has family or friends to spend the holidays with," says Jeffre. "This song is for those people. I hope they find some comfort in it." Over the past 15 years, all four members have enjoyed other careers outside of music. Nick appeared on TV shows both as an actor (The WB's Charmed and One Tree Hill) and a host (VH-1's Big Morning Buzz Live). Drew was crowned season two winner of Dancing With the Stars, been on Broadway, and both brothers opened Lachey's Bar (A&E). Timmons joined members of Backstreet Boys and 'NSYNC for VH-1's Mission Man Band and Nick Carter's Sci-Fi feature, Dead Seven. Jeffre is involved in various media and cause related projects stemming from his foray into politics as a mayoral candidate of Cincinnati. Still, they always harbored a not-so-secret hope to one day record together again as 98°. And, this Christmas, the four friends got their wish. "I love the singing, I love the performing, but the best part of making this record is that I get to hang out with the guys and share some laughs," says Jeffre. "We're all at the point in our lives where we have so much else going on - other projects, families. We may go for an extended period of time without even talking to each other, but when we get back together, we pick right back up where we left off. The band will also be embarking on a 31 city tour kicking off on November 10 and running through December 23. Might Let It Snow lead to future 98° albums? Time will tell, but Timmons certainly hopes so. "The best has yet to come out of this group," he says. "After all these years, ultimately, it's all about the way we sound when we sing together. As you get older, that means everything: to be able to strip away all of that other stuff and get back to why we're doing this in the first place."

Sandra Butler

Listen to "Sandra Butler It Never Ends" on Spreaker. As mothers and daughters age, their relationship shifts and changes in complex and often demanding ways. In IT NEVER ENDS, women speak openly about the satisfactions and sorrows of mothering middle-aged daughters and discuss the issues that continue to surface, the ongoing effects of the past on the present, and the varied and often invisible ways they continue mothering. Mothers acknowledge an inevitable recalibrating of authority, autonomy, and independence now that they no longer are as central in the lives of their daughters as they once were. In the pages of IT NEVER ENDS - mothers reveal the courage that comes with aging and their engagement in a time of reckoning: acknowledging past mistakes, forgiving themselves and their daughters, and moving toward a greater acceptance of their connection in all its human imperfection.

Me Inc

Listen to "Me Inc" on Spreaker. I was blessed with the opportunity to sit with a large group of creative people. You know me somewhere in the conversation I'm going to bring up daily writing. So many heads nodded. It was if they were saying "Whoa please don't invade my place of safety." I get it. So many times we jot things down we don't want others to read. But in reality it doesn't belong to you. In the months and years ahead your dark cloud actually serves as a winning tool. You made it through the mountain. I've been studying the paragraphs of my daily writing laid into the veins of the living tree on March 23,2016. Before jumping into the final paragraphs I truly didn't have a clue as to what I was putting so much energy into. Then I realized the artist had come face to face with a moment of crashing.

Boat Docked On The Edge Of The Bay

Listen to "Boat Docked At The Edge Of The Bay" on Spreaker. All too often I feel like I'm too full of myself. Only to take note of the number of notes I'm endlessly writing down. Not to serve me but others. To lend the open hand while locating paths of performance by way of being a leader. On March 23, 2016 I penned out a couple of paragraphs that were down right deep. Way to far to travel for most. Until I break it all down in November of 2017. Once the sentences and paragraphs are explained the picture becomes clear. So why didn't I just come out and say it the first time it was written? It's what I call Hidden Speak. Most of us don't want others to know how we truly feel. A bad day doesn't have to come with a book. But the person carrying the weight needs to get it off their chest and away from their body. Through Hidden Speak I'm able to walk in peace without causing an irritation. Going back over a year to reexamine the layout of words becomes a modern tool. To use that moment to not only question my own steps but to challenge those who are in need of quality leadership.

Tracked at the hallowed Capitol Studios in Hollywood, 'The Christmas Wish' is Alpert's first holiday record since 1968's cherished 'Christmas Album' - recently named one of the Top 15 Christmas Albums of All Time by MOJO. 'The Christmas Wish' is the latest in a wildly prolific run of releases for Alpert, his second album of 2017 and sixth in the past five years. Alpert's joyous and transportive 'Music Vol. 1' came out in July and debuted at #1 on Billboard's Contemporary Jazz Charts. The record's single "I'm Yours" was also dubbed "a new classic" by the Huffington Post. Herb's 2016 album 'Human Nature' garnered his second GRAMMY nomination in a three-year period, following his ninth win for 2014's 'Steppin Out.' In the midst of this remarkable stretch, it comes as no surprise that Billboard has dubbed the legendary musician "more prolific than most artists a fraction of his age." Alpert is touring through the end of the year, including twelve shows in eleven nights at Manhattan's legendary Café Carlyle.

Hal Johnson

Listen to "Hal Johnson Fearsome Creatures Of The Lumberwoods" on Spreaker. Hodags and hugags, squonks and wapaloosim, wassets and whintossers—when you venture into the wilderness, there’s no telling what horrors you may meet. So it’s best to come prepared. Through the voice of an unnamed cryptozoolologist with dubious ethics, Johnson leads his readers on a whirlwind adventure through the North American wilderness, from the swamps of Florida to the Mohave Desert to the Michigan woods….and from the snow drifts of Canada to the Poconos. Each chapter is illustrated in ghastly detail…throwing the reader into tales of mischief, absurdity, and disbelief starring some of the most heartless monsters in American folklore. These are the stories kids love—spooky, fantastical, gripping, gory, and surprisingly cheeky. The acropelter of the north, the multi-elbowed, long-armed relative of the baboon that pelts its victims from above before tearing off their arms and attaching them to his own. The roperite of the Mojave Desert, whose beak doubles as a noose. If they’re lucky, its prey are strangled immediately. If not, the roperite will drag them halfway across the desert. Perhaps scariest of all is the snow wasset, which lurks beneath the Canadian snow, waiting to burst through the surface to snatch at its unsuspecting prey. The Slide-Rock Bolter at 25,000  pounds in the largest terror The tiniest is the Hoop Snake at four pounds Readers—the young and the young at heart—will surely never look at the woods the same way again.  Fans of R.L. Stine and Neil Gaiman will relish these tales, expertly spun by Johnson in a style that is as witty as it is macabre. FEARSOME CREATURES OF THE LUMBERWOODS is perfect for campfire storytelling, Halloween reading, or anybody staying up past their bedtime. A mix between Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, FEARSOME CREATURES OF THE LUMBERWOODS is a surefire hit for middle grade readers and parents alike. Bob Hoskyns

Listen to "Barney Hoskyns Joni Mitchell Anthology" on Spreaker. Nine Grammys. More than ten million albums sold. Named one of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time by Rolling Stone. Joni: The Anthology is an essential collection of writings on Joni Mitchell that charts every major moment of the famed troubadour's extraordinary career, as it happened. From album reviews, incisive commentary, and candid conversations, Joni: The Anthology includes, among other things, a review of Mitchell's first-ever show at LA's Troubadour in June of 1968, a 1978 interview by musician Ben Sidran on jazz great Charles Mingus, a personal reminiscence by Ellen Sander, a confidant of the Los Angeles singer-songwriter community, and a long "director's cut" version of editor Barney Hoskyns' 1994 MOJO interview. A time capsule of an icon, the anthology spans the entirety of Joni's career between 1967-2007, as well as thoughtful commentary on her early years. In collecting materials long unavailable, rare, or otherwise difficult to find, Joni: The Anthology illuminates the evolution of modern rock journalism while providing an invaluable and accessible guide to appreciating the highs―and the lows―of a twentieth century legend. “Once I crossed the border, I began to write and my voice changed. I no longer was imitative of the folk style. My voice was then my real voice and with a slight folk influence, but from the first album it was no longer folk music. It was just a girl with a guitar that made it look that way.”―Joni Mitchell, 1994

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 87

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 87" on Spreaker. We all go through it. We're so consumed by work, play, dreams, far away wishes and too many commands. The cup is so full that it's become too easy to get lost and confused. You wake up from a simple catnap and your mind can't instantly plant you in a place of easy recognition. The sweats set in. You begin to doubt and quite possible feel fear. It takes longer than normal to readjust your awareness only to realize it was a moment of disconnection that felt like a completely different direction. With our amazing ways of staying in touch with those we love and create with. We keep protective eyes on the steps that make up the circle. But when something doesn't look or feel right it becomes too easy to forget about their existence. You can't say this is what it's like when you get older. My grandson walks the same trail when he wakes up. How do you prepare for this? The body is already beaten down by the everyday world. It doesn't need mental departures to add to the confusion. I lose my keys a lot. So I started placing them in the same location every time with my wallet and everything else required to be carried. Can we leave objects of recognition to bring us back safer? Then it hit me. It's not a trinket that's required. It's something much larger than a breadbox.

Trash Treasure Vinegar

Listen to "Trash Treasure Vinegar" on Spreaker. I've always been fascinated with what people put out on their curbs for the trash man to take away. In today's world that doesn't always guarantee a trip to the dump. Walking through a flea market I'm reminded of one man's trash is another man's treasure. We collect a lot of things. So much so that we've outgrown our homes. Storage units three to five stories tall have become a huge business. So why is it we can't throw things away? If we aren't using it why keep it? Oh I'm no angel here. I'm extremely guilty of collecting things because I want them in my present moment. When I'm finished with it the next step of the journey is to locate a closet or find space in the garage. I do dream of the day when I can rent a dumpster and throw it all away. Downsizing your life is a horribly difficult task. What about downsizing your emotions? How can we take what we've experienced and let it go? I write everyday because I can physically tell you it creates room. I rid the mind body and soul of all things that could and will lead to bad thinking and decision making. Preparing for a storm and or growth requires space. You can't get it at Walmart or Morningside Storage. They say being creative is a space maker. The more you paint or write music the easier it is to find your path several miles from imploding. But are you getting rid of the right stuff? I read your Facebook, Instagram and Twitter talk. You may think you're shedding your fur, feathers and skin but it's still there on the digital imprint. Just as it is with my daily writing. Oh boy it can take me back 17 years in a heart beat. How do we grow forward carrying so much trash? Is it another man's treasure? My heart recently reminded me that a great bottle of wine if not taken care of will become vinegar.

Sofi Tukker

Pam Grier

Listen to "Pam Grier From Bad Grammas" on Spreaker. Parade Deck Films and WowNow Entertainment announced today the opening theatrical date for BAD GRANDMAS. Set to open on November 10th, 2017, the film stars the late Florence Henderson ("The Brady Bunch"), Pam Grier (Jackie Brown, Mars Attacks!) and Judge Reinhold (Beverly Hills Cop, The Santa Clause). Described as a Fargo-meets-Bad Grandpas comedy, BAD GRANDMAS was written and directed by Srikant Chellappa. The film is slated to open theatrically in over 20 markets and then hit VOD, digital as well as Blu rayT and DVD just in time for the holidays. BAD GRANDMAS is a dark comedy about four southern grandmothers who accidentally kill a con man. Things really go off the rails though when his partner shows up wanting to know where he is. The film also stars Randall Batinkoff (Kick-Ass), Miriam Parrish ("Days of Our Lives", "Roseanne") and Susie Wall (Sophie). Their golden years are not what they expected, but they are far from boring.

Diane Snake Lake

Listen to "Diane Snake Lake Member Of The Family" on Spreaker. Dianne 'Snake' Lake reveals the true account of her years with the Manson family, detailing for the first time how she came to join the Family at age 14 and revealing new information about Charles Manson and life as one of his "girls." ### A poignant and compelling memoir of survival, MEMBER OF THE FAMILY (Morrow, on sale 10/24/2017, on sale 9780062695574, $27.99) is Dianne Lake's disturbing and powerful testament of her time with one of the 20th Century's most notorious criminal figures: Charles Manson. At age fourteen Dianne Lake-with little more than an old note in her pocket from her hippie parents granting her permission to leave them-became one of "Charlie's girls," a devoted acolyte of cult leader Charles Manson. Over the course of two years, the impressionable teenager endured manipulation, psychological control, and physical and sexual abuse as the harsh realities of Charles Manson's true nature revealed themselves. From Spahn Ranch and the group orgies and acid trips, to the Beatles' White Album and Manson's dangerous messiah-complex, Dianne tells the riveting story of the Family's descent into madness as she lived it. In MEMBER OF THE FAMILY, Dianne Lake details how she was lured by one of the notorious cults of the 20th century after her parents, who were themselves members of the famous "Hog Farm" commune, were unwittingly complicit in bringing her to Manson's attention then acquiescing to her choice of joining Charlie's "Family." After a tumultuous upbringing with multiple, chaotic moves, Dianne found herself living out of an old bread truck that her father had transformed so that the Lake family could "drop out" and live life free from societal responsibilities. During this time the Lake family, Dianne's mother and father and two younger siblings, moved around Southern California and Dianne found herself longing for a place she belonged. So, when she walked into a party where two young women, Lynette Fromme and Patty Krenwinkel, singled her out and brought her to the lap of Charles Manson, Dianne finally felt like she had found her true Family.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 86

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 86" on Spreaker. The story beyond the story. The lessons learned while marching through the storms of everyday. While studying Martial Arts I learned very quickly that winning is a choice. Sounds like a tool of insurance more than assurance. Learning to live that path helped me embrace the unexpected while celebrating the carefully planned out. Then when life takes a swing at you the forest student steps back into the circle and realizes the importance of learning. I didn't learn how to kick, block and punch but rather opened my awareness. That's a tough life to live up to. Being aware means you stand on the roof of your foundation and take on the storm. There's a reason why willows bend with the wind. But were they always that way?

From his first appearance in the series premiere episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, "Encounter at Farpoint", to his last in Star Trek: Nemesis, Dorn has appeared more times as a regular cast member than any other Star Trek actor in the franchise's history, spanning five films and 272 television episodes. He also appeared as Worf's ancestor, Colonel Worf, in the film Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. Following the end of his Star Trek career, Dorn had supporting roles in a number of independent feature films, including Shadow Hours (2000), Lessons for an Assassin (2001), and the Santa Clause trilogy, in which he appeared in a cameo role as "The Sandman". Dorn was born in Luling, Texas, the son of Allie Lee (née Nauls) and Fentress Dorn, Jr. He grew up in Pasadena, California. He studied radio and television production at Pasadena City College. From there he pursued a career in music as a performer with several different rock music bands, traveling to San Francisco and then back to Los Angeles. Dorn first appeared in Rocky (1976) as Apollo Creed's bodyguard, though he was not credited. He first appeared as a guest on the television show W.E.B. in 1978. The producer was impressed with his work, so he introduced Dorn to an agent who then introduced him to acting teacher Charles Conrad to study acting for six months. He then landed a regular role on the television series CHiPs. Dorn's most famous role to date is that of the Klingon Starfleet officer Lieutenant (later Lt. Commander) Worf in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. "If what happened to the first cast is called being typecast," Dorn says, "then I want to be typecast. Of course, they didn't get the jobs after 'Trek.' But they are making their sixth movie. Name me someone else in television who has made six movies!" Dorn has appeared on-screen in more Star Trek episodes and movies as the same character than anyone else: he appeared in 175 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation (missing only the episodes "Code of Honor", "Haven", and "Shades of Gray"), 102 episodes of Deep Space Nine and four Star Trek movies, bringing his total to 281 appearances as Worf. Dorn is also one of six actors to lend his voice to Star Trek: Captain's Chair, reprising his role of Lieutenant Commander Worf.

Doug Abrams

Listen to "Doug Abrams Book Of Joy Journal" on Spreaker. On the occasion of his 80th birthday, HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA invited his dear friend, ARCHBISHOP DESMOND TUTU, to Dharamsala, where he lives in exile. For one historic week, the two men spoke candidly to each other about their lives, their philosophies, the state of the world, and of the inherently human trait we call JOY.                 Last year - these conversations became "THE BOOK OF JOY" written by the two men along with DOUGLAS ABRAMS. Abrams moderated the conversation and in the book, he walks the reader through the conversations between them - the private moments they shared throughout the week, and the history and science both men reference in their explanations of what joy means to them!                 This year - "THE BOOK OF JOY - JOURNAL" gives us a way to plot our own paths to joy!                 On October 17, here's your chance to talk to DOUG ABRAMS - who will tell you more about the amazing stories from that meeting and how you can apply the lessons from these great men to your own life!   "Joy and happiness cannot be found in pursuit of any goal or achievement. It does not reside in fortune or fame. It resides only in the human mind and the human heart. And it’s here where we hope you will find it." —HIS HOLINESS THE DALAI LAMA and ARCHBISHOP DESMOND TUTU

Benjamin Bratt

Listen to "Benjamin Bratt From Coco" on Spreaker. 'Coco' is about a 12-year-old boy with big dreams," says director Lee Unkrich. "It's about a hardworking family with great traditions and a lot of love. But what's so cool about 'Coco' is that the boy could be my son. That family could live next door. The sweet, bossy grandmother who insists on one more bite might be your grandma. There's something familiar to us all in this story. That's what makes it so special." The universal theme of family resonated with filmmakers. "We are all part of a family," says co-director and screenwriter Adrian Molina. "Those relationships are beautiful and complicated. But our family shapes who we are, which made us wonder-if you had an opportunity to meet your ancestors, what would you recognize in them that you see in yourself?" Adds Unkrich, "We recognized a common need to be remembered-to feel that we'll matter long after our time here. Likewise, there's a strong desire to keep alive the memories of our loved ones. By sharing their stories and creating our own, we build this connection across generations that is bigger than our day-to-day lives." Pixar Animation Studios' 19th feature film introduces Miguel, an aspiring singer and self-taught guitarist who dreams of following in the footsteps of his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz, the most famous musician in the history of Mexico. But Miguel's family forbids music. Many years ago, his great-great-grandmother and great-great-grandfather came to an impasse: She wanted to raise their family together in Santa Cecilia, but he couldn't let go of his dream, leaving his family behind in his quest to be a musician. Passed down from generation to generation, great-great-grandmother Mamá Imelda's consequent ban on music is strictly enforced-much to Miguel's dismay. "When Miguel unearths a secret from his family's past-a connection to Ernesto de la Cruz, he rushes to share the news with his family, thinking it will clear the way for him to be a musician," says screenwriter Matthew Aldrich. "To his surprise, it only makes matters worse."

Ask Questions

Listen to "Ask Questions" on Spreaker. I am firmly convinced that we are the generation that's forgotten how to ask the "Right" question. We have Google, Bing and Yahoo! Not a good enough answer. No website has the ability to showcase the value of experience versus information. I am blessed with the opportunity to speak in front of many many people. In the opening of the conversation I always invite the passerby's to ask me three top of the mind questions. Not because I'm conceited or feel my time is more valuable. I'm trying to train people how to get back to asking questions. Bosses tell us what to do and how to do it. Followed by invisible angst. They know you're upset with the multi tasking but they don't care. Ask questions. Showcase your concern. Be alive in the moment and stop being a human robot! No boss holds their position without asking questions about the level of play they're expected to maintain. Nowhere is it written that once you get to that decision making position that you have the right to never answer questions. Being transparent is the fad word. But very few people in control actually live it. Start asking questions. I truly don't care if it makes them uncomfortable. They've got knowledge and the experience and it's your goal to gain access to it. Taking what you know and making it greater is the gift. If you don't ask questions there can be no growth.

Calvin Harris

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Calvin Harris Keeping Secrets" on Spreaker. I cannot keep a secret. Calvin Harris on the other hands has the incredible ability to use personal experiences to keep people locked in on never asking about who he's creating with. There's too much going on for him to put focus on what people are asking about and can't give inside views of. His latest release on rBeatz Radio is Faking It.

Time

Listen to "Lost Time" on Spreaker.Yep.. Its almost 2018. What happened here? A minute still requires 60 ticks on a clock. The actuality of a day is still 24 hours. How then did we get to the end of 2017 so quickly? I believe it's the cause and effect of two things: Your job and what you do on the social networks. We keep our mind body and souls so busy that time means nothing to the hearts requiring rest. Your job owns 8 hours of your day but expects 12 to 15 without pay. The social media gets everything in between. Will And Grace are back on NBC. Really? When did they leave?

Gryffin

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Gryffin On Being In A Band" on Spreaker. Not all master mixers discovered started out addicted to their digital devices. Power of Choice

Listen to "The Power Of Choice" on Spreaker. Nothing stops my steps from moving forward quicker then hearing someone say, "You are so talented. You were born with the gift. Success is your victory." Seriously? We're all born with the ability to bring light to all shapes and shades of darkness. The power of choice is the key that unlocks or blocks the door. A great day doesn't begin the moment you walk in the door at work. Nor can you call it a brilliant chapter written when you arrive back home. Being a daily writer gives me the opportunity to study the requirement to build upon the presented foundations. Instead of trying to always win in the moment. The goal is to study what's been laid out and or experienced. To study the paths of choice that make tomorrow a place of achievement. That's not a gift but rather an open palm that simply says "We can do this. But it's not going to be easy."

Armin Van Buuren

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Armin Van Buuren On Pop vs Dance" on Spreaker. Fans of Pop music are still being introduced daily to the incredible talents of master mixer Armin Van Buuren. Those who were there during the early days are wondering if he's turning his sails toward that side of popularity. Not so says Van Buuren who explains what goes into every piece of music. His latest release on rBeatz Radio is Sunny Days.

Emmylou Harris

Listen to "Emmylou Harris Nashville Christmas" on Spreaker. Get ready to “deck the halls” as digital broadcast network getTV prepares to debut its first original offering, “A Nashville Christmas,” a 60- minute music-variety special featuring popular country artists Wynonna, Emmylou Harris, Lorrie Morgan, Pam Tillis, Ashley Cleveland and Dailey & Vincent, on Thursday, December 7 at 8PM ET/7C. The special is one of the highlights of getTV’s third annual “Most Wonderful Month of the Year” celebration. Jeff Meier, General Manager and SVP, Programming for getTV said, “At getTV, the fan response to our broadcasts of classic holiday specials from Andy Williams, Perry Como, Johnny Cash and more has been overwhelming, so it just made sense that our very first original production would follow in this great tradition of holiday music specials for the whole family. We’re thrilled to be able to bring these wonderfully talented country performers together for ‘A Nashville Christmas.’” Among the show’s highlights are Wynonna’s solo performance of “O Holy Night”; Emmylou’s “Coat of Many Colors”; Wynonna and Emmylou’s first ever duet “Beautiful Star of Bethlehem”; Lorrie’s rendition of “The Christmas Song”; and Pam’s “Santa Claus Baby.”

Give It To God

Listen to "Give It To God" on Spreaker. A sentence recently fell from my writing instrument, "I'm not sure people know what's going on. The reaction is to have no action for it may invite more darkness." Instantly I called such a statement wrong because we've become the generation of having too much to say. Podcasts to Youtube a lot of noise is being broadcast. But the sentence goes deeper into the process of who and what we are. How often do we sit through an entire newscast? We get the initial first paragraphs and bolt. It's too heavy to hold. Microsoft Edge isn't shy to put up global news on the face of the computer. I can't figure out if it's actual or propaganda? Which makes me wonder about who is and isn't accepted on our social networking devices. How many of them are planted there to control your thinking? Do we truly know what's going on or are we acting and reacting to something someone digitally put into play inside our place of growth?

Jeanette J Johnson

Listen to "Jenette j Johnson Everyday Fashion And Faith" on Spreaker. Her post opened up a pertinent discussion that deeply reverberated with readers looking to find similar balance. Through personal experiences, current events, and pop-culture references, J’S EVERYDAY FASHION AND FAITH: Personal Style with Purpose (Waterfall Press; 10/3/17) makes the connection between deep-seeded spirituality, strong values, and the daily decisions we make about our personal style. From her upbringing in rural middle America, to her first job out of college in a big city, and finally to Florida where her blog was born, J’s journey to finding a balance between her love for fashion and her faith was not an easy one. After experiencing many setbacks in her personal and professional life by not being appropriately dressed in the interest of being frugal, J was faced with the harsh reality that her style choices conflicted with her inherent values. In her memoir, J embraces this understanding while providing a unique perspective with refreshing outlooks on guilt, creativity, self-esteem, and global responsibility that everyone has encountered. Balance: As women we often put the needs of others ahead of our own. The varying duties of being a woman can feel overwhelming. But treating yourself to something you have pined over or setting aside time for yourself are important forms of self-care. Creativity: Our passions – whether that means for you clothes, beauty, food, art, or anything else – is an important part of our souls and are something to be celebrated. Don’t be afraid to embrace who you are. Self-esteem: When your clothes don’t fit, it’s easy to believe that your body is the issue and not the clothes. But hidden behind those clothes are issues surrounding inner beauty that is far more powerful and important. Global Responsibility: While we cannot change the world in a day, we at least have a responsibility to start questioning where our clothes come from, what conditions those people are working under, and to know how much waste clothes produce. Many women are faced with these universal concerns and J’s objective is to open the discussion for women from all walks of life and faiths. Part memoir, part call-to-action, J'S EVERYDAY FASHION AND FAITH explores topics that we as women often don't talk about openly. It shows that caring about our appearance doesn't have to be a sign of vanity, that we can interweave our values, morals, and faith with our own sense of style and creativity, and that we have a social responsibility as consumers.

The Lyrics From Billy's Forest Chapter 85

Listen to "The Lyrics From Billys Forest Chapter 85" on Spreaker. If I were to truly explain what this entry is about you'd judge the book by it's cover. In fact if you have a difficult time dealing with reality I suggest you don't pull your vehicle in. Life is a series of changes and challenges, victories and reasons to grow outward a quarter inch at a time. We love to pull things toward us without realizing at any given moment it can be taken away. But how do you deal with it? Anger? Depression? Do you instantly get locked up on new vices that send your already awkward path into a spin before you win? Writing with truth is how I deal with faith. Growing up is what we are invited to do everyday. It's something so many never get used to. Mainly because it's too easy to wear a mask.

Clean Bandit

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Clean Bandit Talk About I Miss You" on Spreaker. We've all grown accustom to music videos. Most of the time those magical pieces of art are designed by way of hiring an outside crew. Not for Clean Bandit. They actually started out as masters of video. The music served as a soundtrack. Their latest release on rBeatz Radio is I Miss You.

Mitchell Lee

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Mitchell Lee From NBC's The Voice" on Spreaker. A lot of incredible music has come out of the Charleston, SC area. To see Mitchell Lee on NBC's The Voice isn't a shock because he's mastered the art of what he calls Piedmont Rock. It's a little too much for the Country music scene and not heavy enough to make it to Metal of the veins of what makes Classic Rock.

Without You There Is Silence

Listen to "Without You There Is Silence" on Spreaker. Through out our lives great friends and supportive family members will gut check us. There's always a challenge with the self we are. Not everybody likes them self. It's completely natural but very destructive. And after you've spent thousands on books of motivation and or doctors to help you recover there's still that shape of silence. You can like yourself. But that doesn't mean it's an automatic to motivate, influence and inspire yourself. Those are usually thrown out the window by business leaders who've taken control of your process of growth. You will be injured today at work by a leader that's doing everything they need to look good in front of their boss. You don't have to get used to it. Motivate change. Influence yourself to locate a stronger path. Inspire others to take your lead. It's time you reach beyond liking yourself and become a stronger you.

Niall Horan

Listen to "rBeatz Music Update Niall Horan Solo Tour" on Spreaker. Being part of a Boy Band has a fair share of perks. His first ever solo tour has officially kicked off and he's taking on the expectations required to be a solid front man. His latest release on rBeatz Radio is Slow Hands.

JB Smoove

Listen to "JB Smoove The Book Of Leon" on Spreaker. From couch life to life coach-Leon Black is back in THE BOOK OF LEON (Gallery Books; On Sale October 10, 2017; Hardcover $25). Playing hooky from Larry, HBO, and Curb Your Enthusiasm, the most-ruckus-bringingest-human ever is here to fix your life with a philosophical helpfulness you'd have sworn you never needed. Aristotle. Gandhi. Lao Tzu. Dr. Ruth. Amateurs. For centuries bespeckled dorks have pored over the scrolls of the ancients, read tea leaves, and looked to the stars for philosophy, wisdom, and advice. While some people have probably offered good advice, and others offer bad advice, Leon is here to offer his brand of good-bad advice. These are the musings of a master genius spitting out the secrets of the universe-to help you become just like him. Be forewarned: in opening this tome and Leon's mind, you need to be prepared for straight talk. The kind of unfiltered blunt straight talk that pounds on your door, invites itself in, makes itself at home, helps itself to your food, security pass code, your expensive organic beet juice, and finally makes itself comfortable on that twin bed in your guest room. All the while you think you're helping it-but really it's helping you help yourself! Because that's how this book doozit. Leon Black, he ain't wrong...he just ain't right. THE BOOK OF LEON is the encyclopedic wisdom of Leon Black, the unofficial sidekick to Larry David and a foolish force to be reckoned with. He has advice on skin care, divorce (how to get there without being a dirty cheater), wife insurance, getting money for your startup, when to wash your hands, how to fix government debt (print more money!), how to be a high-functioning alcoholic, and which Uber to order depending on how drunk you are. Leon Black is the modern day Ruckus-Damus, the Bringer of Ruckus, a word artist, a spitter of Leonisms, a possessor of BBIF, and the POHTA.

Neil Giraldo

Listen to "Neil Giraldo One On One" on Spreaker. Singer/songwriter/producer Neil Giraldo has never feared leaving his mark on music. He's actively involved with inviting newer levels of sound to the forefront of listening. If he's playing what's popular then he knows he's six months behind. Being in the studio is a priority. But that doesn't mean he doesn't jump into other new ideas and adventures.
